Just call them and tell them you missed your mail a few days when you were touring out of state as guest speaker for the Klan. LAST time you'll hear from them.  ;)

My mail is running slow too. I got a letter about GM stock IPO and if I want to buy stock the return letter is supposed to be postmarked no later than today. I just threw it away anyway. I have better places to invest a grand or so.

Throw it in the trash.  Unless you're really into jury duty.
You haven't been served with a summons if it came to a mailbox.
You can say lots of bad things about pedophiles; but at least they drive slowly past schools.

"summons" has to be hand to hand if I remember correctly, or does it vary by state ?

Doesn't really matter. If you don't show they can send you the fine. If you want to argue it (to a VERY unsympathetic audience), well, you've already wasted a day at the courthouse. ;)

In most, if not all jurisdictions, if it was sent first class US Mail, it is a presumption in law that it was delivered.  Throwing it in the trash can be a very bad idea.  Call the jury clerk and explain the circumstances and never get your legal advice on forums.  Honesty is the best policy.
