I Voted! My Neighbors On The Other Hand ......
« on: November 02, 2010, 11:42:59 AM »
Just got back from the polls. The board will be happy to note that the Quaker voted for only two Democrats, and none in national races. However I am pissed! No line, 8 people in the room voting, and this was at lunch time. >:( What in the HELL are people thinking? I can only hope that the low turnout reflects a lot of early and absentee voting. What gets me is that I live in a solid middle class, mostly white neighborhood with lots of seniors. Statistically, the most likely voters. Where were they? Oddly, most of the voters were black. First time I've seen that since '08. This was encouraging in the sense that they are actually getting to the polls. If BO did nothing else good he seems to have at least mobilized a group of folks who did more bitching than voting in the past. Still, it is not good news for the GOP. I have no idea how the state will break, but based on a totally unscientific snapshot of who showed up to vote at noon in a mostly white district? Well, I don't think its a good day for the GOP in my precinct.

Same here, (except for the blacks ) There were more people outside waving signs than were inside voting, there were 3 people voting and one BSing with one of the clerks.
That was between 11:30 and 11:45.
Hopefully the old folks will get out this afternoon, saw several in the local Coffee shop, and every one else will be there after work.

Old folks, retired, don't vote during the morning before work rush, the lunch time rush or the after work rush.

They get there licks in outside of prime time.

At 7:00 am when I went to vote, there was a line when I showed up and by the time I left, the line stretched out the door.  I was #11 at my location.

Rather impressive numbers of people voted by absentee ballot or during early voting in my neck-o-the-woods.  The poll numbers have suggested that smaller turnouts will mean larger wins for the conservatives.  I have my fingers crossed.  I don't think the country can survive 2 more years of an unchecked Odamna.

I early voted last week.  There was a line at 3pm on a Thursday, in a county that has less than 10,000 people (not registered voters, total population).

"Why are you carrying a pistol?  Expecting trouble?"

"No Maam.  If I was expecting trouble, I'd have a rifle."

I voted weeks ago absentee (as I normally do).  Here in this little place the polls don't open till noon anyway.  I will ask my wife after she goes this afternoon to see how it was.

I voted by mail weeks ago. Why wait to stand in line with the cattle? You might wind up touching a liberal, and God only knows where they've been!  Bill T.
