Reminds me of some conversations I had after midnight in High School. ;D Honestly, it only seems fair that if we drug test the military, the Congress should get the same treatment. Seriously, that admiral should get a commendation for not using the word "dude" in his responses. ;D ::)

I had to pee in a cup to get my health card and validate my DL - Maybe a public microphone should come with a pee cup attached  :-\

Beyond not using the word "dude," I can't believe that the Admiral even kept a straight face ... That is true self control and professionalism!

That was going through my mind the whole time. I'd bet big that back in the O club that night after a few beers, that at least one of his aides, if not the Admiral gave it. ;D

It is so typical of the shallow stage one thinking so many of the progressives have.   Finished reading Dr. Sowell's book, Applied Economics and (not at dry as you'd think) he talks about how so many people don't think very deeply beyond the most immediate results of their actions.  Especially congress-critters who don't seem to fathom the consequences of the bills they pass.  This lack of depth apparently extends much broader than Dr. Sowell could have imagined.

Probably largely due to the fact that they exempt themselves from all the bills they pass.

Alf has put his finger on it.
As an example, Reagan is a hero because his support for the Afghans combined with high tech weapons programs like "Starwars" caused the USSR to go broke and collapse. Seemed like a good idea at the time, however, it can be easily shown that the result was the Rwandan Genocide, Bosnian "ethnic cleansing, and the rise of "Radical Islam.
When the world was divided into 2 spheres of influence it was in the best interests of the 2 powers to maintain stability, that was the purpose of much of our foreign aid. Same idea on the other side of the fence.
But if you eliminate one of the competitors the other no longer has any incentive to give a crap about some sh!thole like the Congo,
The thinking being "The Soviets can't build bases there so who cares what they do to each other"
The result is a bunch of very uncivilized places led by thugs with no one restraining their worst impulses.
