It comes with a custom built wood and glass display case.

I don't know Alf I grew up in Ct  
 Tour of the Factoy - The original  where USFA is located or the New one,, alco CNC machines are not much to look at to see one of them I would go to my friends machine shop.
 Lunch with management - Why would I want to ruin a good lunch was never fond of so called management types.
 Package of Special Colt Logo Items and Collectables - MADE IN CHINA enough said.
 Photo with Engravers - OK But  no one knows who they are.
 Visit the Historical Dept - Can find most information on line whith out leaving the house
 Official document of Authenticity - Seeing as it is the only one whats the point.
 Initials engraved in a spare mainspring housing- Why its not like you are going to change it out and I don't neeed an extra one.
 Hotel and Travel - I could stay at my sisters in Trumbull and go by car.
  In short I am glad someone is willing to pay some astronomical figure for something that benefits a charity or someone in need. If it was me I would just take the Firearm and have them donate the cost of the extras to a charity of my choice.

Current bid was $72,025 when I looked.


Seems like a raffle might have been a better way to go.  At $1000 a ticket, I bet they would have gotten more than 72 purchased....of course the auction is not over yet. 

And with the raffle, some less well financed folks might have had a chance to win.

I guess I just break these things down different. Don't get me wrong, I like and respect high grade guns, but $72,000.00 for 1 Colt or about 60 nice AR-15's. For me the choice is obvious.  Bill T.

I saw it in a magazine article on the different commemorative's being issued, never thought it would go much over $5k
$72K now  Holy samoleans !    :o
It is however, as one of a kind, an instant collectors item for several reasons and the money is going to a good cause.

Exactly what I have been saying.  The liberals that want to tax us to death and beyond to fund their precious projects don't understand that the "evil rich" will part with their money very easily for a pet project.  Sometimes all it takes is a little carrot, or in this case a $2,000 gun and accessory package that they can put on the mantle and tell the story to their friends who will also take out their checkbooks for projects.  Is it ego stroking - YOU  BETCHA!  But, when was the last time you saw someone who didn't respond to ego stroking, including do gooder gladhanders that like to tax us for the good of others.
