I've not been in a walmart in about 16 years.

just a FYI, I know a bunch of contractors that have been screwed over by them.  They are known for being super slow payers and they want you to pay for every thing.    I beleave they try to ruin people finacally in order to pay less then they owe or not at all.  Just to give you a idea of how bad it is, there are nation wide banks that will not give you biz loans if you have a contract with walmart.   Think about that for a second.

I'm having this feeling Wal-Mart is on the downside and playing CYA in the process. I say that because the Supercenter by me has just gone through an extensive remodeling and reorganizing effort. The problem is it was for the worse. They eliminated departments altogether, and greatly cut down on product in the ones they kept. Sporting goods for example, doesn't have 2/3rds of what it used to. Automotive is down by a couple of isles. The food department has gotten so bad Melanie has quit shopping there except for non food items like laundry soap, paper towels and such. Their meat is total crap as far as quality. It's just is starting to look like it's not doing too well.  Bill T.

I feel like a need to speak up here in defense (or at least the best I can muster).  As an Auburn alum and proud fan, we had no say so in the fact that the trophy got put on display in Wal-Mart; it was contractual bcs crap.  If that's the price we pay for winning; I'll take it.  With that said, insert your favorite team into the situation and it probably wouldn't look a whole lot better. The rest of the pictures speak for themselves.  Although, I couldn't quite find everything on the shopping cart list.

Same thing happened to ours too. I hated the place before, but now it is even more worthless...but as Bafsu said, a "necessary evil".......
The upside was that the 'new and improved' wal-mart has finally driven my wife (after years of badgering from me, to no avail) to shop for food-stuffs at a local area-owned grocery store.

I try to keep my $$ local when I can without hurting my bank account too much......and it's do-able if you shop around. Perfect example is Lowe's vs the local lumber yard. After years of being the highest price for lumber in town, one of our local guys found a new supplier and now consistently beats Lowe's on price...and has better lumber to boot. Win for the guy that makes a few phone calls before buying lumber.

Food and guns I buy local. everything else I buy at Wal-Mart. It's the only place I can afford. Shoes at the Shoe store around the corner are $60+ the exact same shoes at Wal - Mart $20. My prescriptions, at the "local" Pharmacy's (Rite Aid, Walgreen's, CVS, ) $200+/ month at Wally world ? $24 per month.

Same here with the prescriptions. I just hate getting 1,867 E-Mails along with 146 phone calls for every prescription my doctor phones in. They must be faced with a ton of people who don't pick them up. They are unbelievable nags!  Bill T.

Our wal-mart pharmacy was a PITA...bunch of idiots. Every time I needed a scrip filled it was the same old song and dance. Something in their system triggered a need to call my insurance company for this reason or that reason....got old quick because most of the time I had to call my insurance company to get them to call wal-mart to straighten out a mistake made by wal-mart in the first place. Too much BS.

Its still Wally world, but its cheaper. If you have one, use Sams for your prescriptions. If you buy the "busiess" membership, for a few bucks more, you save even more. I don't like them, but I can't afford not to use them. :-\
