Monsters walk among us
« on: January 19, 2011, 01:41:00 PM »
A friend sent me the link....and I hesitate to even post it because it is on a topic that can be very incendiary on forums (abortion).
That is not the intent.
People need to be aware of the horrible people that live in our society and what some of them are capable of doing.

US abortion doctor stabbed babies: charges

NEW YORK (AFP) – A US abortion doctor was arrested Wednesday and charged with using scissors to murder late-term babies.

Doctor Kermit Gosnell allegedly ran a house of horrors in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where women patients were treated by untrained, unlicensed staff in filthy conditions.

Grand jury investigators began probing the Women's Medical Society clinic after a woman patient died of a heart attack caused by narcotics that had been administered to her, the Philadelphia district attorney's office said.

Gosnell and several employees were arrested and charged with murder in the deaths of the woman and those of seven babies seen breathing and moving after being delivered.

"He regularly performed abortions beyond the 24-week limit prescribed by law. As a result, viable babies were born. Gosnell killed them by plunging scissors into their spinal cords," the district attorney said. "He taught his staff to do the same."

Among those arrested and charged was the doctor's wife, Pearl Gosnell.

The business was housed in a "decrepit and unsanitary clinic entirely with unlicensed personnel," the statement said.

The Philadelphia Inquirer said Kermit Gosnell, 69, was stripped of his license in 2010 after health authorities determined his clinic posed a danger to the public.

Philadelphia Abortion Doctor Charged With 8 Counts of Murder

An abortion doctor who catered to minorities, immigrants and poor women was charged with eight counts of murder in the deaths of a patient and seven babies who were born alive and then killed with scissors, prosecutors said Wednesday.

Dr. Kermit Gosnell, 69, made millions of dollars over 30 years, performing as many illegal, late-term abortions as he could, prosecutors said. State regulators ignored complaints about him and failed to visit or inspect his clinic since 1993, but no charges were warranted against them, District Attorney Seth Williams said.
-----snip-----

The district attorney also said patients were subjected to squalid and barbaric conditions at Gosnell's Women's Medical Society.

Authorities went to investigate drug-related complaints at the clinic last year and stumbled on what Williams called a "house of horrors."

"There were bags and bottles holding aborted fetuses scattered throughout the building," Williams said. "There were jars, lining shelves, with severed feet that he kept for no medical purpose."

The clinic was shut down and Gosnell's medical license was suspended after the raid.

Workers, some of whom were also charged with murder, were untrained and unlicensed, including a high-school student who performed anesthesia with potentially lethal narcotics, Williams said.

Gosnell has been named in at least 10 malpractice suits, including one over the death of a woman who died of sepsis and a perforated uterus.

I'm pro-choice and I agree. It sounds like one of the back alley clinics pre Roe. Thing is, its real easy to prey on desperate people. Loan sharks, drug dealers, pimps and doctors like this all demonstrate it every day. There is a special place in hell for all of them.

Wow!!!

I thought that legalizing abortion and making it a right that the state must provide for anyone and everyone guaranteed that this type of thing wouldn't ever happen.

I'm done on this one now.

Nevermind, I'm just going to go to the corner and fume about this for awhile.

+1, I'll just leave my reply at that. Well said and truly sad.
Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

As far as that piece of bm is concerned I feel his exicution should match the crime. Anyone got a set of fiskars trimmers?

Part II.
I know that before I press the post button that I will have written something that some or many will not aggree with. I put this out there as my opinion only.

In a society so in love with itself it is hard to reason that a touch of common knowledge and some personal responsability would cure such an evil necessity in life. I feel that in present day America and in much of western society we have the technology and the fine chemical substances to prevent or take care of an unwanted pregnancy before viable life is present. I don't think I need to give a biology lesson here but once the egg is fertilized and attached to the wall of the uterus you have what can potentionally be viable life. Viable life in my eyes lands far enough in the grey to be called black and white, again this is my opinion, but if you get that far you most likely will bring into this world a miracle. Again I feel we all know how to get to the point were viable life is possible and it goes without saying that we know exactly how to prevent this. I will allow that there is a population among us without the knowledge of how this whole thing works but in my ideal world I would take the funds currently allocated to funding abortion propaganda and provide an outreach for those who may miss this very important lesson in life. What I don't understand right now is if you know the action that causes pregnancy and you know the steps to prevent it and still do what you want why is it any surprise when the result of your poor judgement bares its head? Yes contraception fails I get that, but the day after pill is just a pharmacy away. Again I understand that some states are behind the times with this technology, alrighty then focus on correcting that issue.

About now I usually get bombarded with the tender issue of rape. I think rape is an awful dispicable act that ideally should be delt with by castration and death in some instances. My argument is unchanging however in that an ounce of awareness and avoidance goes a long way. Add in some preperation and you have a good chance in preventing that horrible circumstance. Unfortunetly even the best get bested and in those instances I hope that there is a good support team for the person going to the hospital to report the act and prevent that person from performing the crime again. Rape kits to my knowledge include the morning after pill.

In ending with just a wee bit of wiggle room for discussion I will say that I do not believe that we can ever truly rid the world of abortion but I do feel that if we used some personal responsability and the common knowledge most of us are privy to, abortion would not be used near as often as it is now.

Ok. I disagree with your conclusion, but agree in principle with most of your points. Unwanted pregnancy can, generally be prevented or dealt with pre-implementation. Other circumstances like pill failure, medical neccesity, etc are a different category. We can agree to disagree.

Where I have a problem is your treatment of rape. It can be avoided??? Look, most rapes are date/acquaintence rapes. The stranger crawling through the window is a real, but less common occurence. Most of the time its someone you trusted who all of a sudden doesn't take no for an answer. Kind of hard to shoot him. No offence, but you're blaming the victim here. I won't presume to tell you what to think on abortion. I do think though, that you should rethink your view of how easily prevented rapes are. I also think that the damage to the fetus is on the head of the rapist and no one else.

Here in lies the problem with the "forum" forum.

I fail more times than not at properly conveying a point in this arena and no matter how well I think I covered the circumstance perceptions best me.

I don't think a book would be large enough to convey my opinion on the issue of rape. No I do not think it is an easily avoidable problem, yes I am painfully aware of how most rapes are conducted but I just don't know how to write exactly how I feel. Point in case would be rape between the married. I absolotely believe that a partner can rape their significant other and I have no idea how to convey an idea on any sort of prevention. Party rape, rare scarry man behind the bushes/brake in through the window rape is a little more straight forward but there are so many shades of rape I don't know where to begin and end. My intent was to say that pregnency as a result of rape can be hampered or mostly prevented by methods used in the hospital while reporting the crime. Is it a sure bet, no I don't think much other than taxes and death are. I have had the unfortunate luck of helping two women go to the hospital and report this aweful crime. In one case it was discovered to be a blatent lie to get back at an ex and in the other it was a horrible circumstance. I do feel that what women need in these instances are as much support as they can get.

Again I want to say that I am not niave enough to believe we will ever get rid of abortions. I think the average person is far to apt to jump to that solution. We do not in our daily lives practice enough personal responsability and this leads us to choices that require personal and difficult decisions. If you know how to have a baby and how to prevent it than I don't think there is much wiggle room in the excuse department for unplanned pregnancy. Again I reserve the right to change my mind at any time and certainly will take what anyone has to say on the issue for what I feel it is worth. Do not hesitate to offer this lad some insight into your experiences and opinions.

One medical procedure is no different than another and only an ass would advocate outlawing one.
That being said, with all the less intrusive forms of birth control available, including the "morning after pill" RU487 IIRC, the only people who use abortion as a birth control method are those to irresponsible to use any other.
The "womens rights" argument is pure BS that only fools fall for. You want to outlaw abortion ? OK, then let's outlaw organ transplants as well, what kind of sick bastard wants to turn people into spare part Frankenstiens ?
You want abortion on demand ? OK, lets have amputations on demand as well, you could save 50% on the cost of shoes.
It's a bullsh!t issue that has been obsolete for 40+ years. It only serves 2 purposes, it advances the socialist assault on what America used to be by undermining the relationship between men and women ,and it also serves the socialist agenda by distracting attention away from real issues, such as immigration, political corruption, and the economy.
Note the those most vehemently opposed are the religious people who know best how you should live your life, Fags are evil, etc etc. While the ones who defend it are the over educated dumb asses.
