I understand your problems but some sworn to "Serve and Protect" have no more interest in your problems than how long it's going to take to get rid of you.  No offense to any officers out there that actually DO care, you know who you are.

I haven't been to a show in several years, the last one tried to get me to check my legally carried, concealed sidearm before I was able to enter.  I refused, turned around and drove the 70 miles back home.  I decided it wasn't worth the time of effort to scrounge through the piles of surplus crap I could see from the door.

As to credit cards, I stopped using those about ten years ago.

I haven't heard this phrase before, please explain?

Well....

There is Hispanic lingo, and than there's (for lack of an appropriate PC ghetto lingo.)

Ebonics personified...

Here's an example:

"omelette"  Let's use it in a sentence.

Omelette you slide on da $20 you owes me.

Just sayin'.....Gettin' your "gak" on is the latest mutation of modern English, that is common amongst folks of a slightly lesser educational resource... ::)

Refers to carrying a firearm to demonstrate one's image as a "player", to gain status amongst fellow thugs.
Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.

I went to a gunshow the Saturday after Thanksgiving.  It was the first time I had been to one in a long time.  Observing the people was probably more interesting than the guns.  Other than that, admiring all the things there that would be a felony in California and some other states.  It was also funny watching people tote long guns through downtown.

"get my gak, on"  I wasn't there; so, I didn't hear it.  But, is it possible that he said "get my GAT on"?

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=gat

Gat: Old slang, meaning gun. Came from shortening Gattling gun to just gat. Was used during the prohibition era to name any gun, but specifically the thompson submachine gun, aka The Tommy Gun.

I believe it was a prohibitian era gangster term that has been adopted by modern day "gangstas."

Sometimes it good to hear others thoughts on something. I was trying to gauge whether or not my thoughts are too out there.

As far as how people dress and look at gun shows, my personal opinion is to over dress. I do the same thing at gun ranges. While I am all about jeans and a t-shirt—I even own and like "tactical pants" (they're great for camping, hiking, etc.)—I usually try to dress more "professional" or business causal. I have even gone to the range wearing a tie (from work—I don't dress up for it that much). I suppose this is my little effort to counter any stereotypes about guns and gun owners.

Gun shows are like strip clubs, you get to see alot, touch a little and nothing comes home with you.
I always break all the clay pigeons,  some times its even with lead.

Speak for yourself, I've had pretty good luck at gun shows.

Strip clubs on the other hand, I'm not sure I want to touch.... :P

Last show I went to the prices were higher than at retail. It will be a long time before I go to another one. All they had were new stuff, hardly nothing used, what was they wanted new prices.

I think Tim and I were at the same Gun show, No CCW, and what they had was either full price or beat up crap.

Our local gun show has the same policy. Unload and check at the door.

I have my own policy. Don't ask, Don't tell. I'll pay the extra dollar at the door. You WILL NOT disarm me.
Wandering around I noticed several others that had the same attitude. I spotted 4-5 others carrying concealed, and I would bet that none of them gave up the ammo.
