But the United States Constitution was amended to read "shall not be infringed."  I believe that is pretty clear and covers any differences some may want to through in.

there is 100s of years of court cases and laws that say otherwise.

Infact the modern idea of it meaning no restrictions what so ever, is not very old.  It is  < 50 years old.

I won't argue that the courts have screwed things up for a period of time, but what we have been restoring (as in bringing back) and heading back in the direction of what we had when the country was formed.

TAB, you are full of crap. The whole spark of the revolution revolved around the right of the citizens to keep and bear arms, not just guns, but the entire range of military equipment, from bayonets to cannon and the munitions to feed them.
In fact, the final straws that led to the Declaration of Independence was the seizure of the Arms of the people, and Powder of the merchant's and militia of Boston, and the seizure by Royal Governors of the powder belonging to the militias of other colonies such as NJ and Va.

It is time that we as Freedom loving citizens flex our collective muscle, and take the no holds barred and uncompromising stance that many others have taken to either protect their Rights or create rights.  Look at the protections the porn industry has kept under the First, and we have many in our ranks that are afraid to demand a national Right to Carry* ruling**.

We also need to continue to fight to unravel the infringements known as "common sense legislation" that has banned certain arms and actions used in arms, as well as many accessories.  Automatic weapons, suppressors, threaded barrels, magazine capacities, caliber limits, etc.  We have allowed requirements for special tax stamps, special training, special licensing, built in locks on handguns, lists of allowed guns that are more restrictive than USPSA's Production class, gun free zones, etc.  We have handed the Second Amendment over to everything but repeal, and it is time to take it back and restore it!

* Note that I said carry and not concealed carry;
** It will take Bills, but what we need and must demand is Court rulings restoring the Second Amendment to its fully intended purpose

This is a real simple issue on the one hand and a real tough one on the other. Simple version: 50 state reciprocity. Its in the "shall not be infringed" clause.. Tough issue: Police powers, including regulating carrying of firearms, is a local power. Such powers have traditionally been delegated to the states. True conservatives support state's rights. Infringe them in one area and you open pandora's box. Its not an easy call in theory, as you might give away more ground than you gain. I'm not sure if I need to rescue the citizens of NJ or Il. from their idiot politicians at the expense of expanding federal power, or whether I should just tel tell them to get their own house in order the way most other states have done. :-\
FQ13 who knows what I want to see happen, but I am reluctant to totatally federalize firearms rules for obvious demographic reasons..

That argument is incorrect FQ, on two counts.
First off, The 10th A says all powers not specified are reserved to either the states, or the people, the 2A which has now been incorporated to apply to the states as well, DOES specify, that the right of the people to keep AND BEAR arms SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED. Secondly, even if your argument did hold water, many if not all states constitutions contain guarantee's similar to the Second Amendment.

Thanks for the info on reciprocity from Missouri. Sent that on to my father and stepmother. They are going to get their CCW this year.

Would be nice if all states honored our license for our respective state (No respect for California/Illinois/Massachussetts/New York and Hawaii  ;)).
