Horrific Abuse case
« on: February 17, 2011, 05:23:47 PM »
It’s the case of child abuse shocking the country today. A man is accused of killing his adoptive daughter and severely injuring her twin brother.

In a hard-hitting interview with David Wilkins, head of Florida’s Department of Children and Families, Megyn Kelly asks how the couple was allowed to adopt the twins in the first place given that they’d already been accused of abuse. And, how did it come to pass that an investigator visited the home on Thursday to look into charges of abuse, did nothing, and by Monday this 10-year-old child was dead.

Welcome to Florida. Not 5 years ago a DPS agent was convicted of not checking up on a foster kid for a year. Here, they got called to the house, but didn't interview the kids, because it was after nine on a Friday night. :o >:( Some agencies deserve more money because what they do is too important to trust to idiots. It was bad under JEB (where it was politicized), Charlie, where it was negligent and now Scott needs to step up, fund it enough to hire decent people, rewrite guidelines, and fire a whole lot of folks.

One child dead and another severely injured......... and when asked by a judge a weekend investigative visit she replied:

He shouldn't have to, as his ass should be fired and he won't be doing any investigations at all.

Been driving by the crime scene for 4 days. Judge posted $1,000,000 bail. for this scumbag. They will not disclose cause of death for the little girl.

Acid burns on the boy, duct taped them at home, and his wife is also in jail.

truly sick fu**ers that deserve more than life in prison.

As to the broken county run system of foster care? Yes it's that bad. I'm sure not just in Florida either.

Very sad.

That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

Stuff like this just illustrates why Govt should stay the hell out of social services and social issues.
There is a REASON churches are tax exempt.

That's not an option. One, we're talking about an enforcement agency that deals with abuse claims. That's not something the private sector can do. Two, there are far more kids, particulaly, older/difficult/special needs kids than even the largest chuches can take in. Even if they could, you'd still need an enforcement agency to oversee them. These kids, by definitition have no one to look after them. Its one of the appropriate duties of the tax payers to do it until the kid turns 18 and finishes HS (don't even get me started on the state cutting off support to a kid still in school just because they turned 18). >:(

Funny, I thought the cops were paid to handle criminal assault.
The thing that knocks the BS out of your argument is that these 2 kids would have been safer in Scrooges work house or taking lessons from Fagan and "the Artful Dodger".

Because being a cop and evaluating whether someone is a fit parent are interchangable jobs? "Officer Smith go evaluate the Jones home, see whether the family is salvageable". Suggest that to your local SO and being Tazed will be the least of your worries. You'll be used as the new chew toy for their canine unit. "Gee Deputy Watson, you mean he gets to play with the police dogs all day? How did he get that job"? "Well, little Jimmimy, Mr. Bogan said we should handle a whole lot more domestic cases, so we found a new job for him. He likes it here though. See how he gets to run and act all silly when we let two dogs out to play? That's a happy man.", ;D

Like the f*cking social workers are doing such a marvelous job ?
They are trained investigators, since they never show up in time to actually prevent anything they should damn well investigate.
Now that I've vented my irritation at your liberal stupidity, I will reiterate, Cops are already trained in investigation, and observation, not social engineering BS. We already expect them to handle reports of violent activity, I don't know of any law that limits them to only assaults against those 18 and over, and that is what child abuse is.
They also spend most of their time dealing with scum bags, if this guy did this, I will bet he has some record for other stuff.
