If the enemy is behind cover and there location has been compromised, what does this offer that a mortar or 40mm grenade doesn't, other than a more convenient on hand option?  Doesn't seem to change the rules, but it does give the bad guys less time to patty cake around.  With drawl or push forward, response to their cover is quicker now.

That's assuming that thousands of these will be fielded and on hand in every engagement.

Personally, is see advanced technology as redundant points of failure on any system.  If fancy gizmos and all make something more effective and easier, then I'm all for it, but if a system is built on tech, have a contingency for its failure and be prepare to live with out it.  That goes for just about any thing, not just guns and weapons.

You put a couple planks over your fox hole. Notice no one has bought 10,000 of them, it's an answer looking for a question. this will do nothing that hasn't been done by grenade launcher's since WWI.

Except cost as much per unit as all the artillary used in WWI combined!

Modern warfare seems more concerned with lining the right peoples pockets than acomplishing anything.

Love that scene...one of the best.......
Famous last words, "He can't hit nuthin' from thar...he's just wastin' his bullets."
"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

Another long range movie shot I like a lot is the one from "Valdez is Coming", 1971, w Burt Lancaster. Wish I knew how to post a clip of it...

I love that movie: me, my friend, and my Dad stayed in the theatre and watched it twice!
