Elk problem. Any solutions?
« on: April 09, 2011, 11:53:25 AM »
Maybe it's just me, but I can think of a really effective, low cost solution to this elk problem.    MMMMmmmmm...  Elk jerky. ;)
“I’ve lived the literal meaning of the ‘land of the free’ and ‘home of the brave.’ It’s not corny for me. I feel it in my heart. I feel it in my chest. Even at a ball game, when someone talks during the anthem or doesn’t take off his hat, it pisses me off. I’m not one to be quiet about it, either.”  Chris Kyle

.30-06 ought to do it. Lots of it.

Take out some of the 2-legged idiots as well. Sheesh, what maroons!

When my son and I camped in Alberta some years ago, we had elk coming through the campground constantly. You learned if you did not know to stay away from them. I knew and stayed well out of their way. But, one time, even though I was off to the side and next to a tree, a bull came after me to protect his small herd (2 cows and their wee bairns). He must have known I was thinking of elk jerky . . . . .  ;)

Your suggestion of using a 30-06 on these wonderful animals is offensive in the extreme, shotguns are much less likely to over penetrate and injure innocent bystanders.  ;D

WHERE IS THIS LITTLE BIT OF HEAVEN?

As a patriotic citizen I volunteer to help these unfortunate people with their problem.  All I require is plane fare and a hunting license. ;)

I figure my 454/45 carbine will work just fine. ;D

Friends with knives and some time on their hands.  :)

As a golfer, seeing what they do to the course, (and the pace of a round), would make me hit a low drawing 5 iron.

and a golf buddy that runs slower than me

Direct hits with Rubber Shotgun slugs would not get them to move in PA. PGC went to scarcrow round, flash bang to chase them away from homes
