And since the SEALS understand Duty, Honor and Country. This administration would difficulty in spelling any of these words without help, let alone define them, no one here should be surprised, just educated as to how deep, how pervasive the the lying is from DC.

Note to all - when a leftoid mouthpiece like the New Yorker comes out with an "official" story, you can bet dollars to donuts it is a complete fabrication, loaded with spin.

Personally, I've believed nothing I've read.  This guy may be accurate, maybe not!  Either way, having once had a Top Secret clearance in the Navy, disclosing what is considered "need to know" information is taken very seriously.

These men who were involved in this mission don't need to "prove" their heroism nor do they need to brag about it to boost their own egos.  Those that do aren't there for long.  They retire and become firearms instructors or run some BS "Seal Experience" school!

I'm good knowing that the POS is dead.  I could care less how he died.

While I am willing to believe that (gasp!) politician's lie and abuse intel for political gain, I'm skeptical of the author as well. His assertion that no SEAL would kill an unarmed man as its not a lawful order? What planet is this idiot living on? Not one but two Presidents issued a Presidential Finding declaring Bin Laden to be a "clear and present danger". Sounds lawful to me.

Well, for one, the author is a former SEAL, whereas you are a faux libertarian former Perfesser, so he wins in the credibility contest.

And the SEAL mission is not and never has been so far as I can recall ever reading - purely kill missions. Of course, we only get to see a tiny percentage of what they do. Their missions typically include grabbing people, gathering intel, and on occasion whacking someone in the middle of combat, like the 3 Somali pirates, but to mount and operate a pure "go out and kill someone" mission - doubtful, very, very doubtful.

Why? Because it offends some abstract sense of morality? It damn sure doesn't offend me. I doubt Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, or Reagan were overly bothered either. You might want to reread your Vietnam War history, or your histories of our involvement in Central America and the Carribean and other garden spots around the world. We tend to play rough, and frankly, from time to time its a necessary thing. Don't try to make plaster saints out of soldiers. Neither the saints nor the soldiers will thank you for it.

I tend to agree with this.

It is not in the Intelligence Community/Special Operations mindset to blab anything.

I didn't see him give any compelling reason to make what really happened known.  No threat to anyone had this version not been told.  All it might do is cast more discredit on an already moral bankrupt administration.

FQ, being clueless you may want to review your "military law".
Following orders you know are illegal is a criminal offense, whacking prisoners is considered a war crime, and assassination was specifically outlawed during the 70's.
