Advice needed on .45 acp handgun

Sig is certainly a great manufacturer - I've told this story a thousand times here (and else where) so the short version.   
I owned 4 Sig pistols, 9mm, .45, .357Sig, .40
I found I shot GLOCK better, accuracy and fit just worked better for my paws.

I now own 5 GLOCK 9mm, .45, 10mm

Moral - (as we all know) Try before you buy, and keep and open mind - go with what WORKS for you.

I understand the made in America idea and do buy American when I can.

Owned the Sig in .45 ACP. It was the quickest transfer of ownership of any firearm that I own. I may have had it for 2 or 3 months. Very inaccurate. Had traded a Glock 17 for the Sig. Traded the Sig for a new Glock 22.

Decided on Glock 21's and Glock 30's a few years ago. I love the .45 ACP and mine perform flawlessly. If I could not have a Glock then I would definitely go for the Smith and Wesson M&P. I know you are pissed with their customer service, but their M&P Pistols are top notch.

I would have sent it to the factory with a target showing the spread. I bet something wasn't fitted properly and they would have fixed it.

Honestly, that is the first time I have ever heard that about a Sig. Any of them.
Most all will shoot right along side any 45 and not give up anything.

I saw it mentioned early in the thread but you should take a serious look at the Ruger 345 if you want to meet all your criteria and do it on a budget. I bought one about a year ago at my local shop NIB for around $350. They still sell them for around that and you can find them on gunbroker for even less: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=227236327. I basically bough it as a tackle box/truck gun. I wanted something small enough that I could grab and slip in my waistband if needed and wanted stainless since it would see a mix of fresh and salt water splashes.

I put a couple hundred rounds through it when I bought it and it performed flawlessly. The (DA) trigger isn't the greatest but the SA is decent and since it's not one of my regular carry guns I don't keep a round chambered in this normally anyway. It's not going to win any pretty gun contests but it's not a pig either. The ergos are decent and it feels ok in my XL hands and my wife's average-small hands as well. I'm seriously thinking of buying another since I can't think of a better .45 for under $350. The fact that it's a Ruger, so 100% American with a great warranty and company that honors their warranties is a huge plus.

I got ahold of S&W customer service today.  They've been having problems with their system.  They claim to be sending out a return authorization (3rd time's a charm, right?).  This is their last chance...the M&P 45 is still in the running.

Spent way more than a pistol would cost on a new suit yesterday.  I'd better get a Damn job soon.

Well, S&W is officially off the list.  Called them about my 351 today, as I'd not heard anything in over 3 weeks.  Was told that it was moved from warranty repairs to charged repairs and they haven't had a chance to work up an estimate yet.  I told him I was informed that since it was a brand new revolver and the trigger really sucks it would be worked on under warranty.  He said they don't do any work on rimfire triggers.  I told him to send it back and maybe they should let the other CSRs know that they don't fix rimfire triggers, no matter how horrible they are.

After hanging up it hit me that if they don't work on rimfire triggers, what was the estimate for?  Anyway, I'm going to sell it and get a revolver from another company for my wife.  We tried Taurus .22mag revolvers at the NRA show, and their triggers are quite a bit better than S&W's.  Before anyone mentions quality control issues with Taurus...it can't be any worse than what I've experienced from Springfield and S&W recently.  Plus, their CS is said to be excellent.

Still no job, no opportunities on the horizon, and no one has called me to interview in over a month.  But the economy's getting better, right?

On the plus side, the Glock hasn't self-destructed yet.
