Thanks guys.  I have tried several grips so far.  The Houge bantams, the full size Houges, the wood factory grips, and just bought a set of Uncle Mikes from Gun Parts Corp.  Think I like the Uncle Mikes better than any of them.  BUT, have not shot it yet with them.

Well, got to shoot the Redhawk today with the Uncle Mikes grips.  I must say, I am impressed with them.  Made shooting much more comfortable, and my groups improved accordingly.  I highly recommend them to anybody with a Redhawk that does not like the factory grips.

Its a tough call. The old school factory wood grips are (IMHO) extremely pretty. The padded are far more practical. I suffer ugly for practical in pistols. With revolvers, well...... :-[

I didn't like the feel (or look) of the original wood grips on mine either.  Looked too small for the gun and they were too small for my hand and allowed the gun to move around.

Put on a set of Houge wood grips that not only look better but afford a good grip.  Even when I shoot 'hot loads' from it it does not move around and with the good grip it allows the recoil to be properly distributed.

Those are nice Haz. I still like the old factory Cherry with the black back strap, but the wooden houges will work. I suffered rubber ones on my Python, but it just felt wrong. I know I'm being illogical here as I don't care how ugly a pistol is, but with revolvers, as with deer rifles and bird guns I value aesthetics. :-\ ???

You have a nice, rugged, well built 6 gun that will stand up to decades worth of shooting. Enjoy it!  Bill T.

I bought a used Redhawk .44 a few years ago that had the Uncle Mikes grips on them and love them for shooting although I like the looks of wood more.  Is your .45 Redhawk have a 4 inch or 4.2 inch barrrel?  I have heard that Ruger went from a 4" barrel to 4.2" for export reasons, I think for Canada to meet minimum barrel length requirements.  So if you want to get all the .45 Redhawks in stainless you need the 4", 4.2", 5.5" and 7.5".  Not sure if they made .45's in blued also or with the scope ring cuts, so there may be others models out there.  Then there are the .41 magnums and the .357 mag Redhawks.

I'd like to find a Tyler grip adapter, but they are few and far between now.

KPR we need to get together again and go to the range.  I'll bring both the .44 and .45 Redhawks, but may be real short on the .45 colt ammo.
