I love my RWS 34, but it ain't quiet. Were I buying today, living where I live, I'd probably have bought the gammo or what you got. I really do want to hear a range report on the noise factor.
FQ13 who would love to find a quiet .22 air pistol that will do 450 or better.

Quaker, I've got a little Kodak ZX5 that records audio pretty nice.  Trying to figure out how to post something intelligable.  NOT interested in doing a youtube production though.   :-\  I'll let you know how it does though.

Sounds like a great idea, BM....not to give you more work, but let me make a suggestion that might be useful.

It would be good to make a recording near the muzzle for a reference.

Then a recording with the mic some distance to the right or left of the muzzle

Then a recording with the mic close to the target

and a final one with the mic some distance right or left of the target.

FQ is more concerned with what the folks living around him are gonna hear rather than what he is gonna hear...but the first recording will give him some idea of how what he hears will translate to what they will hear at different locations....
