All in all I'm very pleased with my new tupperware.  Having trouble finding a bore brush for it, though.  Guess I'll have to put it in the dishwasher for now.   ;)

You really don't even need to bother for another 5-600 rounds.
Throw some lube on it and call it good.  ;D

Glad the hiccups are gone!
You can say lots of bad things about pedophiles; but at least they drive slowly past schools.

Or you can use a .410 shotgun bore brush as well.  You can find them pretty much everywhere.

They're agreeable to shooting.  Glad you like it.

Out of sheer curiosity.  (I certainly don't need another one.......but what's need ever had to do with it.)   What make is your M1 Carbine?

It's an Inland (Jun '44).

I can really go a long time without cleaning if I just do an occasional run of the Boresnake and a little lube.

You really don't even need that. I'm embarrassed to say I never cleaned my G17 (defined as copper brushes and Hoppes #9). I just lubed it. Nothing more than Rem oil through the barrel with a swab, repeated till it came out clean, and a spritz and wipe down with a silicon rag on all the the other parts. I only did this if it got wet or after a heavy session. When I first got it (20 years ago) I was too new to automatics to realize you were supposed to clean the mags. They got a squirt and a wipe. I had almost zero problems, like a dozen jams over two decades with a gun I shot the hell out of. Needless to say, I treat my current guns better, but a Glock really doesn't need much TLC as long as you are using quality ammo and not shooting unjacketed rounds to introduce lead fouling. They really are unstoppable. In the interest of full disclosure, I have never been a target shooter, and I'm sure being a bit anal wil improve performance. Still, even being somewhat neglectful never caused a problem for me. The damn things just work.

Waiting for the Carbine to sell on consignment.  I did have enough cash left over from the SA 1911 sale to buy this today:

I guess the AR project has started.

Is that the one you need the FFL for? I always wondered if you ordered your lower as just a bunch of pieces parts which one triggered the background check. If that's it it seems absurd that something with no moving parts causes all that fuss.

Yes...because it has the serial number on it.................... Everything else can be had sans FFL.
"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison
