The officer made a serious mistake. They said on CNN that the squad car went to a local Starbucks. I am sure this officer is going to get suspended, but he should not lose his job. People make mistakes. I am sure he feels like a dumbass cause it is all over the news.

No don't fire him. Then he gets unemployment. Make his job so miserable that he quits!

Ok I'm adding something to my platform when I run for the POTUS...

Its gun control, but I bet all of you are going to like it...

Here is what I purpose:

if a LEO loses or misplaces thier weapon, its a federal felony with a min of 10k fine and 1 year in jail.

If its a gun/weapon/ammo that the general public can not own in that juristiction.  min 5 years in jail 25k fine.

if its a federally controled item, 10 years in jail  100k fine.

If a LEA/LEO trys to cover up or fails to report this happening  25 years in jail and the LEA loses all federal funding for 1 year.

And in the case documented, the guy will likely get something like a 2 week suspension...  PAID!   ::)

should be fired,  thats the reason for maing it a federal felony, that way they can not be a LEO.( on the plus side they won't be able to own a gun too.)

I would be shocked if he even gets 2 weeks, I'm guessing more like 2 days and has to go thru some more training...

"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

Sure does seem ironic "we the people" can't be trusted to keep those evil black rifles,....they are dangerous just left around like that...

 :P
Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.
