Tim, I'm talking AFRICAN dangerous game. Yes, with an air gun . google Quackenbushe's website, you will shit when you see some of the things they've bagged with an AIR RIFLE. There is a Chinese company making big bore air guns that are supposed to be just as good but less expensive. I don't remember the name though.

I know Tom, I'm just having some fun old boy!  Lewis and Clark carried an air rifle....they have their place just like a wrist rocket!

Ted Kennedy is already dead.  There is no dangerous game left in New England.  Targets of opportunity?  Yes!  Dangerous game?  No!
Really? Two words, Mitt Romney. There is a dangerous SOB if ever there was one. And, given his weak ass pro 2A claim that he hunted "small game and varmints" in 2008, I can think of no more poetic justice than somebody shooting him with a Quackenbush air rifle in whatever caliber.
FQ13 who will stop rolling on the floor laughing long enough to post this, but honestly, consider the headline "Romney shot with pellet rifle, dispute over hair gel to blame". Tell me you can keep a straight face. ;D

If I were to buy an air gun I might be tempted to check out one of these..............

Benjamin Rogue .357 ePCP Air Rifle.

Does anyone have one?

Benjamin Rogue .357 ePCP Air Rifle

Imagine one rifle that you can program to shoot ammunition at a specific velocity and tailor the energy delivery you need to harvest any game from small varmints to wild hogs. It’s not a science-fiction weapon, it’s an air rifle that will change the way you think about air-gun hunting. The Rogue is an electronic pre-charged pneumatic (ePCP) .357-caliber air rifle that hits hard without the noise or recoil centerfire rifles produce. It sends 175-grain bullets downrange at more than 800 fps. Shoots four to 20 shots per fill, depending on the power setting. Up to six bullets are stored in a fast-cycling magazine. Compressed ePCP air power is recharged by using the High-Pressure Tank or High-Pressure Hand Pump (sold separately). A 3/8" dovetail-style rail accepts conventional optics mounts. There’s also an accessory rail under the forend. A programmable two-stage adjustable trigger delivers crisp match-grade trigger performance. The adjustable rear stock lets you customize the Rogue’s fit and length of pull.
Weight: 9.8 lbs.

One of the most intriguing things to me is "the programmable trigger"!  It has no mechanical connection to the action at all.  Your pulling an electrical switch thats programmed to "feel" anyway you like.  VERY cool!

That's one of the sticking points to me. Why? WTF? WHY would I want a rifle that otherwise sounds like the perfect survival tool, but that won't work without batteries? What's so horrible about a mechanical trigger? You aren't at a ten meter Olympic trial here, you're shooting a freaking wild pig. 3-4 moa will do it.
The thing is no one knows much about this thing, even the folks at Crossman, other than that its going to be pricy by the time you throw in the pump and tank. Still, its a great concept. Six .357 rounds fired at lethal velocity with no powder, no reloading supplies no nada. All you need is a block of lead, a crucible, a bulet mold and extra O-rings and you are good to go indefinately, (and yes it will use regular .357 bullets though less effeciently than the ones Crossman is selling) . Whats not to love? Oh yeah, the trigger is needlesly complicated. ::) :-\

LOTS of choices out there without the wizbang trigger.  Even offering more power, and in .50 cal.!  ;D

Check out their close up picture of the reciever!  That etching almost makes up for not having the novelty of the electronic trigger.   ;)

The "Recluse" is only $599..  And the scope rail being integrated into the receiver is a nice touch.  Come on, Walmart bb guns are going for two bills these days!  GET THE RECLUSE!  Just be sure we get a good range report outta you!   ;)
