Deal from AIM Surplus on Mosin-Nagants
« on: July 15, 2011, 04:22:50 PM »
$79.95  Hex receiver.  Looks very nice

Even I'm tempted at this price.  Shipping for me is $13, so the total would be $92.92.   Looks nice.  Oh, I've got a C&R so no transfer fees, unless I charge it to myself.  Gee the log book would have 1 entry.

Good price. I believe http://classicarms.us/  the same thing. Here's their C&R page link. http://classicarms.us/firearms.htm

My log book is also empty. But a K-31 Swiss, or Lee-Enfield SMLE might be the first..... ;D
Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

Our local Fleet Farm has been selling Moisins for $90 - how is this such a great deal?

Does theirs include the accessory package?

Sling, pouches, bayonet, etc.

If you've got decent ones locally its not. For me, very few places carry them and they want $150 or more for something that looks like it went through the battle of Stalingrad. A good condition rifle for under $100 is a deal, but that depends on where you live.

I've seen MN's with all matching numbers that fit together like junk, and MN's that were rebuilt with nothing matching that work slick as greased owl doody.  Different manufacturing plants, some with barrels shot out, rusted out, and some that looked factory new, some "armory rebuilt", some even missing pieces!  All on the same rack, same supplier, same "grade", same price.   :-\

IMO, the balance and feel of the M30 is so nice (perfect!) it's a more practical and better gun than the M44.  For being a broom handle, they carry through the woods EXTREMELY well to my experience.  And the bayonet could be used to "poke" critters on the other side of a river if needed!   ;D

Last MN I bought I told them to just keep the accesory package, just give me the bayonet.  There's to many of these things around to ever have collector value (talking about the $90 buys), and I've got to much junk as it is.

The one Quaker ordered has a realy nice looking finish on the steel.  Let us know how it is!
