Nice grips!  If it didn't say Ruger on it I'd have guessed it was any one of a dozen existing models of Taurus.   :-\

That baking soda finish is a downer.  Holster wear makes shiny spots on the gun.  And the least little scuff / scratch is permanent, can't be buffed out like you can with the brushed finish Ruger usually sports.

Why won't manufactures make an attempt to improve on things like trigger mechanisms, barrel boring techniques to improve accuracy (ceramic liners similar to car engine cylinders,), improved / adjustable / easily interchangeable sight geometry?

I understand the industry has long gotten lazy, but geesh!  THIS, and another F'n 1911 on the market is their best and brightest?   ::)  ???  ::)

Gotta agree. I love the GP 100 and like the grips a lot. I wasn't aware of problems with the finish, but if its true it seems like a super dumb move, even though I think it looks cool. I also think the giant "Ruger GP100" on the barrel is Taurus tacky. I mean, I already know what kind of gun it is, and if someone else doesn't they can ask me. ;D On the lack of innovation front Badger is on the money.

Have you been watching Shooting USA again?

Jim just informed me that my chances over there of winning a gun are zero, since I watch  ER  Uh  AUDIT.. that's it audit the show a week or two after it airs and hence can't get an entry submitted in time each week.
