I'd also imagine that Glock has a rather restrictive contract as well. If you work for them, I'm wondering if they let you compete with anything other than Glock? Would rule out Cowboy shooting, maybe even trap and skeet. If you're with Ruger you have a full range of guns available to shoot.
I'm never going to win a minor tournament, much less a major one, so my hope is to work part time for GSSF or another manufacturer primarily as a trade show representative. I've actually sent a brief resume to one company offering to work part time at trade shows and events. As soon as I get my Distinguish Marksman using a .44mag and my NRA pistol Instructor, then I may pursue this dream more earnestly.
