If I may suggest, Barbicide. Have your significant other pick you up a bottle of the one with "anti-corrosive" protection on her next trip the beauty salon for $7. As suggested by the name, the stuff is used by barbers to clean and protect their shears, scissors and such from rust. Actually sterilizes anything soaked in it. Best of all it leaves a nice clean dry part that has no stickiness to attract and hold powder residue or fouling. ) has been using it for decades on all kinds of stuff and
swears by it.
On contact surfaces I put a few drops of "Z max" engine treatment. Scoff if you will! You'll never know how
amazingly smooth your gun can operate until you try it!
Using said products on a Glock or AK will pretty well prepare you to never have to service the gun again should the zombies be coming fast and furious.
