I hate that this has happened.
It doesn't take very long for a 'pet' to become a friend and member of the family.
I'm so sorry y'all lost a dear friend.

Same here.....When I think about Sandy (the dog in my Avatar), I think of how much I would miss her if she wasn't around.....It really is something how those animals can give unconditional love.....They don't care about your past, nor do they care about how much money you make, and they don't care about anything else except your love, attention, and food (almost forgot that one).....

I've got a house full of Yorkies. Not so good huntin' dogs...I rack the slide and they go crawl under someting and shiver:o

At least they dust while they're under there, little dust mops that they are . . . .

Beagles are wonderful dogs - I just had to put Henry down last Friday at the age of 13 when he started having terrible seizures

Sorry to hear that, WTR. I've had to put 2 dogs down, don't ever want to have to do that again, but sometimes you have to do what's right for them.

Condolences to you saltydog, that is tough. They become your friend and tied to your heart so quickly.

I made a joke in another post, but this one is from the heart - God made dogs to remind us of what unconditional love looks like - from Him and from his gift to us, the dog.

Saltydogk
Ann is a beauty. She looks sweet enough to cuddle.
I know you your wife and your son will have fun with her.
I bet she has wormed her way into your hearts.
Good job.

God made puppies, kittens and babies so you'll fall in love with them and then won't kill them when they become dogs, cats and children.

Sorry to hear about your loss, Saltydog.  I had to have one of my two boxers put down a little over a year ago, and it absolutely broke my heart  My other boxer, Rocky, is the only one who took it harder than me.  They were litter mates and had never been separated.  It's hard to deal with, but if we didn't love them so much, they wouldn't be worth having.  Hang in there.

Saltydog,

Sorry about your loss.

I know what you are going through. I just lost an English Setter a week before she was 2. I am not over it and don't expect to get over it -- ever.
