Got a Mosin Nagant Laminate 91/30 for my birthday.  Shot it a little (and received some bruising love back) - and this thing is the greatest!

Fun (i.e. cheap) to shoot and with loads of history behind them. I like my 1942 Izhevsk a lot.

Nothing, pound for pound(ing),...compares to a Moisin. Although I have noticed ammo creeping up slightly,.... :-\



I enjoy my 1943, and the bruising.... ;D (Between the Moisin and my Mausers, I'm a glutton for punishment)...

There are some great vids on youtube for some Flitz and fluffing, buffing and otherwise really making the action smooth.

It really made a difference in cycling the bolt in mine.

Thumping round, good for anything in North America on two or four legs. Plus, it can be used to pole vault hedgerows in a pinch.

Enjoy it!!! The darn thing, with routine care, will last another 100 years. Even corrosive, milsurp ammo, if cleaned promptly, is no issue.
