Well if it's faked somebody in her department is probably in for a major problem.

I'm headed home to try it out with my rifles.

"Honey dinners ready!"

"Wait a minute, I'm trying to reproduce stupidity"

"Well dear if anybody can it's you!"

And I did it!

First took the Bushmaster AK Shorty.  Made sure the rifle was clear, then attempted to insert 30 Brownells magazine with 28 rounds of ammo  backwards. No Luck
Took an empty Bushmaster 20 round magazine and tried again. It looked like it might go, gave the base a tap to seat it and Shazam it stuck!
Went back to the 30 round magazine, lined it up and tapped the magazine and it stayed in the magwell.

Now I knew as I was doing it it felt completely wrong going in. And if I pulled down on it to make sure it was seated it popped loose.  Repeated the same stupid move and the magazine stayed in the magwell. Pulled the charging handle back and let it go. No problem because the backasswards magazine was not fully engaged and the bolt slamed home. Any kind of chamber check would have showed any empty chamber.

Took out the S&W 15 and had the same results.

I would be in a coma and known the mag was in incorrectly but under stress and poorly trained it could be done. I have seen folks try and jam a Glock magazine in backwards multiple times at an IDPA match before the light went on.

The opinion at work is with Don that the picture just has to be a set up. I hope so.

This a fake picture, right? I can't inserted my mags backwards. It looks like a Magpul in the pic, doubt they can be inserted backwards either. Someone with a Magpul try it.

Don -

I have Magpuls, I gave it a shot, tried the plastic Sigarms mag that came with the 556, and both do go in a bit, enough to hold the mag in place, but nowhere near enough to get near the chamber. If the mag was loaded I doubt seriously they would stay in at all.

Rifle is a DPMS M4 clone.

That is truly precious Ratcatcher  ;D  Don, I know for a fact they can be put in upside down. Had a pr#ck Sgt. of the guard for a while, he was always prowling around trying to catch sentries off guard, When you let the bolt hit the bottom of the Mag it sounds JUST like you chambered a round, I didn't have problems with him after that. ;D

I must be missing something. The mag looks to me like it is in her mag well backwards, not upside down. I cannot duplicate in in either of mine.

I don't have an AR but just flipping the mag around in my head it seems it could be either backwards or unpside down to get the curve the way it is in the picture.
