You misunderstand, and misinterpret the history. The ability of Swiss troops, coupled with the defensive advantages that terrain gave them forced the "powers" to find another way to deal with them since they could not beat them in battle.
Until the invention of Chocolate and Coo coo clocks Switzerland only had one export, Mercenary Pike men, and Crossbowmen.
Therefore Switzerland is a lousy comparison since they don't actually have any thing any one wants.

I'm sorry. Anything that guys dead/cold hand hand comes near is not in the best interest of the United States. The man is dangerous to all of us, even friends of Bloomberg and Obama..
