According to the Georgia Code, “A person also commits the offense of murder when, in the commission of a felony, he causes the death of another human being irrespective of malice.”

I don't believe in the five states I've reside in that the law was written any differently.

Most 15 year old kids know exactly what they're doing!

How old was the accomplice of the beltway sniper outside of DC a few years back?

It's a shame the ACLU and other groups have ended just about all chain gangs, and prison farms.... A young 15 year old can provide some good labor clearing ditches, planting potatoes, and otherwise SERVING TIME, for knowing what he was doing was A CRIME!!

The term "boy" is relative. My son is 16, comes in at 165 and is 6'1 and still going, he's got the body and health of a man, but the mind of a teenager.... ::)

But guess what? He's more interested in girls and sports than crime. It's called knowing the difference between right and wrong.

Those "African-American", punks at the Wisconsin State Fair, that were attacking white folks,...they were "boys" too,...ask the woman who had her head kicked, and husband beat up, if they hit, stomped and punched like "boys"...

IMHO, punks like this need a looooonnnnngggg time to realize how serious he f'd up. He's lucky he wasn't the receiver of a follow up shot.

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

Yes.....but we don't have an 'express lane' like our brothers over in Texas.   ;)

Maybe he's salvageable, maybe not, but I think with a kid that young you should at least hope that's the case. Without seeing his record I can't speak with any authority as to whether he is redeemable or not, but 15 and looking at a life sentence because his accomplice got shot? C'mon man.

Maybe he is salvageable. If so, as pointed out, his general good nature and wholesomeness will be revealed at his murder trial.
As for the "just along for the ride", that is a REALLY stupid decision on his part to want to have anything to do with the 19 yr old's plan - if indeed it was the older guys plan and not his own. We don't know.

I hung out with a bad crowd when I was a kid and did some phenomenally dumb things...most of which I got away with.
Every once in a while though, when someone came up with a really bad idea, even dumbass teenager me would bow out and say "no thanks, you're on your own."
15 is not so young that intelligent decisions are totally out of their realm.
I had a job when I was 15 and knew that stealing the bosses stuff or money was NOT the thing to do. Joining someone in a home invasion? Not on a bet!

Being charged by the cops is not the same as being prosecuted by the local DA. Let's see what he or she is going to do.

I live in this judicial circuit.  Trust me, he will be prosecuted.

Same down here. Here is the sad thing. In the name of being "tough on crime ::)" legislatures stripped discretion away from the judiciary. They came up with BS like mandatory minimums, letting juvies be tried as adults, and three strikes laws and the like. The trouble is they let that authority move from judges who are either elected or confirmed by those who are, to unelected bureaucrats in the DA's office who answer to no one. Worse, these idiots get promoted on their win/loss record. They see themselves as trial advocates for the victims, not neutral magistrates interested in the truth, even though the legislature made that their job. They just won't understand the difference between can and should. This kid is screwed. >:(

If he was the getaway driver, I could buy the "i didn't know anyone would get hurt."

But not when you are running with the pack.
"Why are you carrying a pistol?  Expecting trouble?"

"No Maam.  If I was expecting trouble, I'd have a rifle."
