Funny, the military went with the 5.56 poodle shooter round to lower the weight caused by ammo but since the round is not a 'stopper' everyone wants to carry more ammo which does away with the whole 'weight' thing.

Build a decent caliber military weapon (.308 anyone?) and ya don't need to hit the guy 5 times to put him down.

They might also be able to be used with the 300 BLK round?

Barry Dueck (SureFire rep) had a couple at Ft Benning 3 gun match last year (2010), and talked to him at the sight in range, naturally his worked fine.... I shoot 30rd PMags that have been absolutely reliable, and save a welded DPMS 45rounder for the odd ball stage....I'm a game player, 30 is usually more than necessary

They're still $40 cheaper than a Beta C-Mag.

I'd be worried about the follower binding where it necks down.
+10 to the Blackout, 5.56 casing, 308 bullet, only change is the barrel itself .
Whats not to love ?  ;D

I'd worry that no bottle neck in the case might not work with the bottleneck in the magazine.

The taper in the mag might be spec'ed for the bottleneck in the case.

It wouldn't matter, because the rear of the case has no bottleneck and it has to feed as well.

I've got one of the 60rd surefire mags in my 300 blackout right now. I haven't run it on that rifle yet but have about 50 loadings of 5.56 through it. I got it from a buddy about 9 months ago, it was one of the early prototypes they gave to LEO/Military for evaluation. It's nice but I'm not dropping $120 on it. When they come down to about $75 where they should be I'll get a few more. I do like that it will fit in my double mag pouch much better than 2 mags do, much easier to get out. It weighs about the same as 2 loaded P-Mags but is slightly lighter than 2 loaded metal mags.
