How Bad Will This Get For Paterno ??
« on: November 10, 2011, 06:24:25 AM »
As of this morning he's out. So far the evidence points to the fact he knew of an eyewitness account of this pervert, along with his actions since 2002.

He reported it to the school "authorities", but did nothing else. If that is true he could be in more legal trouble. If he knew this was going on for the last 11 years with this guy, and never told the police, he could be open for a ton of law suits. Not to mention Penn State is going to be writing checks for a long time because of their lack of action with this guy.

While it's a sad way for a guy as successful as Paterno to end his career, one has to ask what the hell was he thinking? He knew it was going on for years, had a chance to stop it, but looked the other way while kids were being violated for years. These guys are all in Penn States inner circle, so it's ridiculous to think they didn't know about this guy, along with what he was doing. It isn't like the guy was embezzling money, or even shaving points. Sexually messing with young boys is about as bad as it gets. Paterno is 84 years old. I hope this doesn't kill him.

McQueary told Paterno about the incident the next day, and the coach notified Curley and Schultz, who in turn notified Penn State president Graham Spanier. Curley and Schultz have been charged with perjury and failure to report the incident to authorities, as required by state law.

They notified college buracrats? What about notifying the cops and the kid's family? This is just like the Catholic Chuch trying to keep the scandal in house at the expense of the victim. As far as I'm concerned, everyone who knew and kept silent should be crucified.

That is my point. If he, (Paterno) knew, which he obviously did, and knew for years, he is going to be in for a $h!t storm of the first magnitude, and deservedly so.

Tell that to the 2,000+ students ready to riot over his firing. This should tell everyone the common sense that is all but non existent in today's young, "educated" crowd. What's the difference in this kind of lunacy, or that displayed by the "occupy" crowd? Idiots all.

For the most part Bill, I see little evidence that "young people" have a clue about anything!  There are exceptions of course but the indoctrination is working!

How bad?  Not bad enough.  He should spend the rest of his days in prison for his part in it...

"Why are you carrying a pistol?  Expecting trouble?"

"No Maam.  If I was expecting trouble, I'd have a rifle."

And the sad part is there are so many hard working parents who are sacrificing everything in their own lives to be able to send their kids to a school like this, so they can have the "education" that they themselves never had. What a total, anti productive WASTE!

2000+ were just looking for an excuse to break things.

All deserve to be in jail.

The main three for a long time.

Its not "young people", its the sports culture. Athletes can do little wrong, coaches (as long as they win) are worshipped like Gods and if they've been winning as long as Paterno not even shielding a child molester is bad enough to get some idiots to walk away. Here's exhibit A. When I was at UT we fired both our football and basketball coaches in the same year. Of course we couldn't just fire them, we had to "transfer" them to the head office at the better part of half a milion a year each, while we looked for their replacements. I caught holy hell for suggesting publically  that that might be a waste of a million bucks, and we just ought to fire their asses. It got worse when I said you could fire me from any job on the planet if I got a million dollar severance package, and since when did the UT football program get taken over by pinko commies and union bosses? (hey, I was young and it was fun).  ;D
