Ram-Line used to make a .22 pistol that took 15-round mags but I don't know how good they worked.

RE: Ramline; If the two I had for my Ruger Mk1 are an indication the answer would be "like crap".  Both would bind and fail to feed and after being removed a few times tor reloading the metal tab that locks the follower and spring in place popped off the mag body and couldn't be securely reattached.
That said, I have a 25 round mag from Ramline for my Marlin 995 that has never missed a beat and it's a blast at the range.

Ever noticed that 22 cartridges aren't shaped like 9mm or 45?  Its much harder to reliably stagger or double stack the rimmed case of a 22.  RELIABILITY is why they stick to 10 round mags.

IMHO, the single stack mags for 22 are because of feeding problems with double stack. Perhaps Kel-Tec has solved the problem, we'll see. Personally I want something a bit bigger but I'll reserve opinion till I have time to look it over longer on Wednesday.

Street price should be around $329 as was stated earlier.

I know this is a little late but I had the chance to examine this new Ruger today. This thing is a little small for me and not to my taste but I've heard favorable comments by several people. I thing looks very much like a Walther P22 but it is NOT a copy. The mag release is a standard button behind the trigger guard and is ambidextrous stock. The mag can be released from either side without any changes. The take down lever in located in the front part of the trigger guard and the gun field strips by pulling back and up on the slide much like my PPK/s. The barrel is fixed to the frame. There are some features of the P22 but it's no copy. I didn't and can't shoot the one I looked at but I'd be interested in hearing from any who do.

Hope this wasn't too long, Pecos

I too was able to examine one.  I've owned the Mosquito and P22 in the past and let me tell you, just from handling, this is much nicer than both.  It just feels better than both of those little fellas.  Field stripping is easy and all of the controls are intuitive except the safety.  The safety would feel better if it were slide mounted but it feels backwards on the frame.  Overall, I think its a quality piece but I will be waiting for the threaded barrel version before I buy one.
