No tracks pre-recorded, no political BS, no middle fingers shot out for a cheap shot....no BS....Back when you actually SANG from the heart, with God given talent, and the band actually played an instrument,,,,....

Amen, TW! That Superbowl halftime show was some real crap. It was more like dancing ponies or something.
There's nothing like a musical instrument and the voice (non-pitch corrected, that is).

I'm really surprised Madonna did that. It was really disappointing. You're right how it seems to be the norm today. For what the NFL paid her for that lousy 12 minute "performance", you think she would have done it live. I think a lot of people who thought she was one of the "old timers" who survived through the years like me, lost a lot of respect for her. She tried to make up for lack of a singing performance with a lot of fancy, expensive costumes, wardrobe changes, aerobics she had to be helped through, and electronic crap.

Today these clowns can't even memorize the words to the National Anthem. How many have screwed that up recently? And what the hell was up with all of her low life back up performers? You would think most talented back up singers and dancers would stand in line to perform with her. And the best she could get were a bunch of arrogant clowns who give the camera the finger? Last year they had that totally overpaid "Black Eyed Peas" bunch that stunk up the whole joint. This year I'm afraid wasn't much better. The NFL needs to scout halftime talent like they do players. Perhaps then they'll get what they paid for, and not all of these overrated, over the hill buffoons whos time has come......and gone.

Bill, +1. I did not watch the show primarily because it was Madonna, a horrible role model for any young lady. Never even heard of the "rapper" backup singer who flipped off the world. I say the world should slip her off.

Sadly, the spaghetti networks always go for the extreme, always for the controversial. We're talking about 'em right? Who was it that said - I don't care what you saw as long as you ay it about me?

It would bore the heck out of everyone at a Super Bowl halftime show accustomed to the glitz like last Sunday, but my recent likes in pop music run to The Civil Wars, a fairly recently formed duo with spare accompaniment, using just their voices to bring the song.

I pointed something out yesterday at a meeting where people were praising the halftime show:

It is a football game!  If you want a music concert or dance show buy a ticket to that or turn to another channel!  The NFL produces football games, and this was the championship game of the season!

The halftime show was nothing more than promotion for Madonna's next tour!  Anyone my age should be ashamed if they even own a Madonna CD!  It was produced by NBC with some dainty boy that's worked with MJ, Prince and Ricky Martin!  What did you expect?

Ceelo Green and Blake Shelton are currently under contract with NBC as they're both on some singing reality crap called the Voice with Aquilera and the moke from Maroon 5.  Mostly no-talent wankers who's time has come and gone.

I took the time to take a dump and read my American Rifleman...much better way to spend 12 minutes anyway!   ;D

I did think that Shelton and Lambert did a good job on America the Beautiful and Clarkson didn't murder the National Anthem either!

We got home and turned on the TV just as the half-time "show" (?) was starting....about halfway through it, I commented that it was about as entertaining as watching three baboons beat each other to death with raw chickens........

Of course, it is what it is: A has-been (who was tops in her day) trying to boost her image for 'what ever upcoming purpose' and it filled some space that normally would have been filled by talking suits telling us what had just taken place over the last 90 minutes and what ought to take place over the next 90 minutes.
