S&W MP9

So I'm new to the site...first post and everything. Currently I own a few handguns, rifles and shotguns. This post is in regards to the MP9. I owned a S&W Sigma in the .40 and it was by far the worst gun I have ever owned. Trigger pull was crazy and all my shots were going right. The MP9 is a lighter trigger but it feels like it has a two stage trigger, that I can deal with, lately I've noticed that while cleaning and playing with the trigger something is rubbing and almost grinding. Lately I've been thinking very seriously about selling this weapon and possibly replacing it with a 1911. Brand is almost impossible to decide, I like S&W but Colt is a consideration. I've heard good things about Kimber and Browning but reluctant without someone who has more experience with the weapon before I make a decision. I've been told that there are various avenues for customization on the 1911 and the only thing I can really find for my MP9 is front and rear sights.

Yep.  For trigger work Apex tactical stands out. 

And for what its worth, its not a weapon unless you intend to cause harm with it.  Its a tool.

I have the apex forward set sear Kitty and their RAMP Kitty.   The best trigger of any gun that I have ever shot!  Worth every Penny!

As for the Sigma,  there is a very easy process that you can do that will give you a good trigger pull.  it cost nothing!

I have owned Glocks with full trigger jobs sporting 2.4LB pulls and the m&p with the apex equip is much better!

I broke the gun down last night and found scoring on the inside of the slide where the trigger control runs along the right side of the polymer. I think its rubbing on the slide and making the trigger act funny. Thanks for the custom shops, Ill investigate and see if i can make my MP ideal for me.

How many rounds have you put through it?

If you feel that there is something wrong with the firearm I would call Smith.  They will send a call tag and pay shipping.  I would go this route before ordering aftermarket parts.  You can always pimp it out with Apex parts later, or trade knowing it is in spec.

Yes,  if you contact S&W talk to Paul Remillard.  He has taken care of me on a few things and they are great!  Send it in to them and even if they don't find any thing you will not be charged.  Turn around time is quick as well!  With this being said.  I purchased the normal M&P9 full sized.  I sent it in for a problem with the factory installed laser.  While it was there I decided to have them install their "S&W PRO" trigger group.  (at the time there were no aftermarket items that I could find).  Once I got it back it was much better than the factory non-pro trigger but it still lacked....  It was basically a polish job, new sear (different angle of engagement), and I am not sure if the safety plunger changed or not.  Long story short, I later decided to go with the full Apex set up.  WOW what a difference!  Do not waste you money on the S&W pro kit.  Save the $150 and put it towards the Apex FSS and RAM.  I have had 3 long time 1911 shooters run my gun and every one of them is enamored with the trigger.  Only one says that his custom 1911 trigger is better, the other two both have custom triggers and prefer my trigger over the 1911 triggers that they have!  That is really saying something considering we are talking about a striker fired weapon.

haha,  yea, I have owned a number of them but since the M&P came out I prefer them over the Glocks.  I have had big and small, bone stock and heavily modified Glocks,  I still prefer the M&P.  Nothing against Glock, it is a great weapon and I shoot it well respectively. I will tell you one *&%^ advantage of the Glocks, the magazines are cheaper, the M&P mags are from $30-$60!!!
