hi , im debra and i dont know much about guns and i want to get somthing for home protection that i kan handle....... any help
Hi Debra,
You should take a gun safety course where you can handle some and maybe go to a range that rents guns. Try some to see what you can handle. You need to be able to handle, maintain, and use a gun safely and if you get a gun that you can't do that with it's plain dangerous.
There are a lot of people who can help you here, but you should go somewhere where you can shoot and get some advice in person.
I got the blues as my companion.

Wecome, First get safety training then try all the pistols and shotguns you can rent or borrow.

Hello queenb, and welcome, this forum is a great resource for knowledge and opinions from some very qualified individuals.

Firearms are personal, mass produced at an industrial scale, but still personal. Some one may insist on this, but someone else, the opposite.

Do your  research, go to your local range/shop, and talk to people.

Personally, as "new" to guns for personal defense; Get a good name brand Ruger, S&W, .38/.357 revolver. Small to medium frame.
and test drive it.  Most ranges you can rent "something" and try it. .380 or less is better than nothing, but not ideal for a novice.

Keep it simple, enjoy and practice. NRA Safety Course, Videos, and a great forum (this one), can help you a great deal.

Welcome and good luck 8)

That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

Howdy all,

finally got the cable company to correct some problems on their end about sites I could not access of which this was one so I could join.  Probably will not post a lot due to some medical problems but, will be reading as much as I can.

Have not been active in shooting because of the problems but like to keep up on what's going on in the world of CAS. Will update my profile ASAP.

Welcome to both of you. I think - and hope - you will find this site as much fun as you find it informative, interesting, and on occasion aggravating.

It's a great site.
