George Zimmerman, the 28-year-old neighborhood watchman who shot and killed Trayvon Martin on Feb. 26 in Sanford, Fla., has been charged with second-degree murder in the 17-year-old's death. Zimmerman is being held without bail.

"Just moments ago that we spoke with Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin, the sweet parents of Trayvon," Angela Corey, the special prosecutor investigating the case, said at a news conference in Jacksonville. "They now know charges have been filed, and that George Zimmerman is in custody."

Mike Tyson thinks that George Zimmerman deserves violent retribution for the shooting of Trayvon Martin.

Considering he's a wife beating rapist it's a disgrace that Mike Tyson hasn't been shot yet.

As of April 1st this year there have been 120 fatalities and 490 wounded due to gun violence in Chicago. Essentially all of these crimes occurred in the mostly black south and southwest areas of the city.

Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson do not seem to be concerned with this however. One fatality was a 6 year old girl sitting with her mother on the front steps of her house. All of Al and Jesse's energy is directed at one, probably justifiable, shooting, merely because of the race of the shooter. Tell me there isn't a double standard.

Not to mention that ABC, NBC, and CBS all have had to run retractions after they were caught red handed doctoring the evidence, and bringing in lousy experts that simply said what they wanted to hear.

I read something shortly after the Zimmerman/Martin event:  Most murders in this nation are black on black, followed by 6%* being black on white and 2%* being white on black.  Nowhere did I hear about hispanic on black - which is what this case is.

* these percentages are my best memory, so I will accept correction, but please do not ream me a new one.  I would actually like to be refreshed on the exact numbers.

I also recall several years ago when Bill Cosby took to the stage.  He pulled out his signature stool, and donning his cardigan and comfortable shoes (a black Mr. Rogers in appearance and message) scolded black males for not caring for the children they fathered, and scolded the black community for not taking their responsibilities seriously.  He was torn apart in the media for being racist and out of touch.  A person addressing his own race and community, a community he worked to better himself within, and they told him he did not understand.

Exactly!!!!......and as soon as I wrote it, I had a question.....does the paternal race go first in the hyphenated race or does the maternal?...    As in Zimmerman being White-Hispanic.

But then, that would seem sexist. 

How about the least minority race going first?  As in White-Hispanic?...but then that might be racist....or not depending upon what agenda you were pushing.

We need a Racial Denomination Determination CZAR.

I don't care what goes first or last except for one thing:

You are not something - American!!!

You are American of something descent!!!

According to our state's death certificate, which is in line with national standards and reporting, you are white, black, asian, pacific islander, etc.  The only American something is American Indian.  There is no such thing in legal papers concerning Native American.  Remember, DNA has confirmed the visual assumption that American Indians are of Asian descent.

Hispanic is a nationality not a race. There are Mexicans that are of chinese ancestry, there are Mexicans ( hispanics ) of all races. One of the common races in Mexico is Native Indian and various mixes of that race.
