Having trouble with Firefox
« on: June 11, 2012, 04:32:06 PM »
Is anyone else out there having trouble with the site when using Firefox? I'm running an iMac with OS X 10.6.8 and Firefox 13.0. When I sign in the site won't show me signed in till I reload the page and when I sign out the same thing happens except I get an error message. It does sign me in and out. This is no big deal really just got my curiosity up. I have a PC that doesn't give me the same problems and the problem doesn't show when I use Chrome. This started about a week ago.

Let's not turn this into a Mac versus PC thing or an IE versus Firefox thing. I'm just looking for some suggestions.

Thanks, Pecos

I had the same thing when signing in with firefox.
""It may be laid down as a primary position, and the basis of our system, that every Citizen who enjoys the protection of a free Government, owes not only a proportion of his property, but even his personal services to the defence of it, and consequently that the Citizens of America (with a few legal and official exceptions) from 18 to 50 Years of Age should be borne on the Militia Rolls, provided with uniform Arms, and so far accustomed to the use of them, that the Total strength of the Country might be called forth at a Short Notice on any very interesting Emergency." - George Washington. No problems for me with a Windows PC.

Firefox has been a bit hinky all around but not necessarily on DRTV.  It's been freezing on me quite frequently.

Pecos, I have just tested the forum using the same version on my iMac. Could not replicate it. Since you have to refresh the page to show log in success, it sounds to me your Firefox goes to a cached page on your Mac instead of the current online page.

Thanks Marshall, don't know if that's the case but sounds good. Like I said works ok on the PC and does no harm but only does it on this forum, no biggie.

To answer another question, yes I have the latest version of Firefox.

I use Firefox at work when I can, but we have had some problems with it handling pdf files, so I don't use it as much as I would if there were no problems in that area- we handle a LOT of pdf files.

Haz, found the trouble with Firefox. I had the option for Firefox to warn me if a site wanted to redirect me to another site. While this site doesn't do that I was not getting the warning so couldn't allow it. Found that Gunbroker was doing the same thing. Must be something peculiar to the Mac version. If I take out that option works fine.

TT, reread my OP.
