, but he KNOWS to his core that THIS pistol will work come hell or high water...and that is almost  literally from his tests...  and he just cannot be as sure about any other pistol out there.

I would NEVER grab my "test" pistol for a life and death situation.
My experience is that the flash light batteries are always fine when you test them.
It's only when you lose power and really, really, need to see in the dark that they are dead.   ;D

I imagine he has a working G21 he carries...but he might wonder if it will prove itself as his test gun has.

He did say he fired the test gun without cleaning till the barrel was so full of residue it was effectively a smooth bore.  He must have replaced a barrel or two in 150k rounds...and it seems like he is looking to make something break...so, yeah, that one might not be the best one for your Go-To gun.

Living out here in the desert heat, the only downside to the Glock, or any other Polymer pistol is extreme heat, and UV light. Out here exposed PVC pipe will shatter like glass after just a few months in direct Sunlight. Most everyone here paints any exposed PVC if they want it to last. I don't know what the temp is that Polymer will soften, but in a closed up car out here it can easily reach 140+ degrees inside. That doesn't do +P ammo any good either.

Sounds like that would be a very worthy subject of experimentation.
Maybe leave a frame in the sun and whack it with a hammer now and then.
As for straight heat, if the temperature degrades the ammo it really doesn't matter how the gun holds up.
Either way you are risking a click when you really really need a bang.

EDC for me is a 1911 of one variety or another. 25 rounds total on me..
Were I EVER to change that, it would be a G-17 and 52 rounds total on hand.
It I've had mine for the longest of any handgun I own, and NEVER had a failure of any kind, EVER.
I can't even say that about the revolvers except for a S&W that runs a grand or more..
I'm one of those that is happy to have both, and am happy to carry either one.
My only real complaint is the diameter of the grip on the Glock. But unless I get kicked in the hand, it's not beyond manageable. Mine has an aftermarket trigger, which is the only other complaint I have with them. I love mine!!! I'd pay full price for a new one and be glad to do it. 
With friends like these, who needs hallucinations!..

Was 115 degrees in my Jeep one day. Went to the range with my G21SF. No issues. Desert or snow, I trust my Glock with my life. But I also take care of it and keep it clean.
