Russian Navy Portrayed At Patiotic DNC's Last Night Salute To Vets
« on: September 12, 2012, 06:22:02 AM »
http://www.navytimes.com/mobile/news/2012/09/navy-russian-warships-displayed-dnc-veterans-tribute-091112

So on the last night of the DNC convention when they were attempting to snag the foolish into thinking the party en masse supports the U.S. military the retired 4 star admiral was spouting off in front of a backdrop video of Russian ships instead of US Warships.

Whether it is a mistake or not it is indicative of the half-ass, slip shod thinking and work that the democrats actually provide....especially on subjects they have no real interest in.

The only thing the democrats seem to be doing well are being mindless agents at the voting booth contributing to the dismantling of the USA.

I will point out that while the Soviet naval equipment, especially propulsion systems, always sucked they did build ships with really nice lines.
When I was on Med Cruise we passed a really beautiful Soviet Cruiser sitting dead in the water  ;D

That's sort of the opposite of how many think of Russian stuff... usually it's pretty functional but fug-ugly.
I have a Baikal over under that's built like a Russian tank. It's not pretty but it works real well.
I got the blues as my companion.

Yes Jay, but the fact is that while the Russians build good rifles and pistols most of their other stuff is crap.
Their submarines are based on stolen US technology, they have never built a nuclear reactor of any type that would meet Western safety standards, and the ship based reactors have killed hundreds.
Their tanks work in Russia, but the ones India bought with all the bells and whistles were so ineffective in the warmer climate that India canceled the contract.
Iraq showed us how effective the rest of their armor inventory was , pilots could tell what model variation they were shooting at by the distance the turret traveled when it blew off.

That's probably why they picked the Rusky ships...they do look good.

Rastus, the last option should include the words "yet another" as in Does it matter?  It's YET ANOTHER a sign our days are coming to an end.. . . .

Not to mention their use of antique technology torpedoes that sink their own subs!!  :o  ::)  8)

Actually they have supposedly perfected an "underwater missile" design that we had given up on even before they stole it.
It's called the "Squall", it supposedly generates a bubble ahead of its self eliminating the water resistance and allowing a speed of 300 MPH.
Which may seem to poke a hole in my earlier comment.
But it shows they can make other peoples ideas work it's just their own that suck.
Also, I read about this from one source, always reliable, but not confirmed any where else.

Actually Russian tech doesn't suck. The T-34 was a much better tank than the Sherman (Though neither held a candle to the Panther). Likewise, if you could have only one rifle in a SHTF situation, what would it be? I'm guessing it wouldn't be an AR ;). We beat them at the high tech stuff, but when it comes to the soldier proof "good enough" stuff, they tend to win.

Russian tech does suck, the T 34 was largely designed by German engineers in German supplied factories.
It was how the post WWI German Army developed it's armor theory while skirting the treaty of Versailles.
In the 20's, well before Hitler, German Chief of Staff Hans Von Seekt arranged a deal where Germany could build tanks and train tankers in Russia in exchange for factories and technology.
