Gotta disagree on the sunrise on the east side of Florida. I've never seen it look like it does there, anywhere..
Can't describe, but I'll try..
It lasts about 10 seconds.. The rays of light "criss-cross", like a cross hatch pattern from horizon toward over your head.. If you're not looking, you'll miss it. If you ever see it, you'll remember it..
When I lived towards Tampa, on a Friday night I'd head over to Daytona and catch it, then pass the time crossing back to the Gulf to watch it set. From G'ville, I'd go over to Crescent Beach and work back to Cedar Key..
Don't miss the sunrise, just get settled and looking east a half hour before the sun crests the horizon, and wait for it..
