You don't lead by following or propping your butt in the air like Boehner does. Big talk...all junior level smack with a smile. I bet he even thinks he's the real deal and not a sell out. I bet Supreme Court Justice Roberts thinks he's the real deal too...and not the Benedict Arnold he really is.
Boehner has to go.. The fact that nobody has stepped forward to stand for election for Speaker says that there isn't the conviction, or even recognition that he isn't the guy..
If you worry about who is electable and try to make your candidate look like "their guy" remember your guy is only a reflection..not quite the same and not quite as real. Even the lemmings can see that....I think only the guys who support that kind of thinking cannot see they outsmarted themselves in selecting Romney.
Perhaps the "reflection" is that of the Party that nominated him.. I'm having doubts that "conservatives" are a majority of the Party anymore.. Maybe we are, but we don't have the voice (or maybe spine) of a majority..
I just don't think the GOP is salvageable at this point..
I'm wondering if the crowd who says "We'll lose" if we stand true to our principles are prepared to lose at any cost..
We're gonna lose anyway if we follow the flag of the "moderates" in the GOP.
I rail almost daily against folks who call themselves "Christian" as members in good standing with the Unions, and as members of the DNC.. The hypocrisy of that situation/status, one way or another not withstanding, their views aren't being represented as such.
As members of the GOP, neither are ours..
Part of the difference between the DNC and the GOP is that the DNC seems more a legacy thing.. "We're Democrat because Papa was a Democrat" kinda thing.. That, and of course Union Retirement, because "Papa got me my job"..
(That describes my entire extended family here..)
I think that if we're honest with ourselves, each other and God, we have to find/make a new way, and "organized political parties" are the only way it can work in the system we have to beat..
