Sour grapes change nothing at this point..
That said..
My first two choices for the top of the GOP ticket were Gingrich and Perry.
In retrospect, I think the ticket would have been best served with the names in that order..
Given that the press was going to tear apart whoever it was, I'm still not sure what we were supposed to gain by nominating "Sweet Polly Purebred".. Perry could've held his own against the Rufus the Dufus and Gingrich still seems to be the best to articulate exactly what it is we face, (even to the Obamaphone lady if that's even possible)..
Nothing will change next time around, because the GOP ran McCain in 08 and learned the lessons of non-relatibility without applying them.
Keeping in mind that the leaders will have to learn to follow if they wish to have the opportunity to lead again, if nothing will in fact change in the GOP, and we have no reason to believe that it will, (Boehner is still Speaker..) do we still play along or do we start a new team/game, since we're destined to lose on this one anyway?
How, and/or do we, start a new Party? Starting now would be the only way to have a shot in 16..
Everybody already knows why I ask..
So I ask...

When the press decides your candidate, as they did with Romney, then the organization who allows that shows they are not leaders.

Not that the Republican RINO's were not backstabbing weasels that fed the news organizations crap to go after their own candidates that the RINO's did not like.  

You don't lead by following or propping your butt in the air like Boehner does.  Big talk...all junior level smack with a smile.  I bet he even thinks he's the real deal and not a sell out.  I bet Supreme Court Justice Roberts thinks he's the real deal too...and not the Benedict Arnold he really is.

If you worry about who is electable and try to make your candidate look like "their guy" remember your guy is only a reflection..not quite the same and not quite as real.  Even the lemmings can see that....I think only the guys who support that kind of thinking cannot see they outsmarted themselves in selecting Romney.

Screw the idea that you can't make change.  In an extreme case look at the bad leaders who arose from peaceful societies (or otherwise) who had changed the nature and character of a populace.....and then listen to our losers talk about how they can't run a "real" candidate because the people will not accept him.  Maybe not, but a leader and a mover-shaker can get beyond the people's perceptions by leading....however when backstabbed by their own or when their own pees down both legs to go the safe route and if they mistakenly think they need to work within their own machine we get stuck with a Mitt.

Boehner has to go.. The fact that nobody has stepped forward to stand for election for Speaker says that there isn't the conviction, or even recognition that he isn't the guy..

Perhaps the "reflection" is that of the Party that nominated him.. I'm having doubts that "conservatives" are a majority of the Party anymore.. Maybe we are, but we don't have the voice (or maybe spine) of a majority..

I just don't think the GOP is salvageable at this point..

I'm wondering if the crowd who says "We'll lose" if we stand true to our principles are prepared to lose at any cost..
We're gonna lose anyway if we follow the flag of the "moderates" in the GOP.

I rail almost daily against folks who call themselves "Christian" as members in good standing with the Unions, and as members of the DNC.. The hypocrisy of that situation/status, one way or another not withstanding, their views aren't being represented as such.
As members of the GOP, neither are ours..
Part of the difference between the DNC and the GOP is that the DNC seems more a legacy thing.. "We're Democrat because Papa was a Democrat" kinda thing.. That, and of course Union Retirement, because "Papa got me my job"..
(That describes my entire extended family here..)

I think that if we're honest with ourselves, each other and God, we have to find/make a new way, and "organized political parties" are the only way it can work in the system we have to beat..

I was 17 in 1964 and voted for Goldwater in the mock election our High School ran.  Took a lot of flack for that vote...
