Carry Permit Suspended

The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security has suspended the handgun carry permit of James Yeager, CEO of Tactical Response, a firearms and tactical training company, who recently said he would “start killing people” if the Obama administration attempted to enact gun control through executive action.

In a statement released on Friday, state officials said they suspended Yeager’s permit based on “material likelihood of risk of harm to the public,” WTVF-TV reports.

Yeager also noted that he had inadvertently assembled an army--people emailing, calling, posting responses--in agreement with his stance.

While I applaud his courage, his less-than-well-though-out words tend to paint gun owners as nut cases who are just waiting for a chance to take up arms against the country.

I am interested in getting others' thoughts on this.

Yes, his choice of words were poorly chosen & he needs to fill out an ID10T form. He let his cottontail mouth overrun his alligator a_s and portrays gun owners as nut cases which leads the anti's to say - "see, this is a perfect example of what we are talking about". His rant on social media raised red flags for the Tenn. Dept. of Safety & DHS, who I'm sure is following these forums, as well . I don't disagree entirely with what Yeager has said but there are better ways (words) in which he could approach the given situation. Given the travesty in Ct., CO. and other areas of our country in the recent past, it takes a bear of little brain to say your going to "start killing people". It's unfortunate Yeager chose to address the gun issue in this way, he is going to be made an example of, unlike the people on the social media sites right after the shootings in Ct. who stated shoot the CEO & members of NRA.
There is no doubt the winds of change are upon us and we must defend to keep our inalienable rights (they can't be transferred, they can't be taken away by another man) because our forefathers understood what it meant after living under the rule of someone and had the insight to put them in the one document that defines our nation and for our protection against a tyrannical Gov.   - The Constitution of the United States.

As I mention in the post, I have a pretty low opinion of James Yeager, who has posted on here to defend his idiotic "down range training", but what he says pretty much sums up how I'm thinking.

I'm not sure how I feel about it at this point.  I need to read it deeper and think deeper.  However, it does bring to mind the editorial in the DesMoinse Register a couple weeks ago, and our local radio host the Monday after Sandy Hook.  When is it right to act on verbal threats - face to face, in print, or on the air.  They took this serious, and they went after Ted Nugent.  Who's next?

My point is that we are all suspect and vulnerable.  The two that I named are anti-gun, and they both threatened more violence and bodily harm to others than any of us here on Down Range TV.  Homeland Security has the power to do what ever they wish in the name of safety.  It was set up by a previous administration for a purpose, but it has unintended consequences.

He is simply advocating that the 2nd amendment be applied as intended.
His phrasing may be offensive, but I will point out that the people who talk nice have totally screwed us and the system.
Any one who disagrees with the sentiment he expresses (not necessarily the exact wording ) is either a coward, an idiot or a traitor.

The time for talk is over the Democratic regime becomes more blatant about it's intent to dispose of that stupid old Constitution .
