I can buy just about all the explanations concerning the excessive smoke in the photo, but nobody can answer one thing:

Why is there only smoke from the muzzle and the offside porting?  Why did they plug the ports on the near side ... or forget to photoshop it?

I'm surprised the shooting glasses aren't rose tinted.
What is that brass thing on the muzzle of the top barrel ?
Is it some kind of Blank adapter ?

The "brass thing" in the upper barrel is the choke tube.  When they unpacked the gun for this posed* picture they only put one tube in.

* My assumption based on the fact that there is only one choke tube in, he shows no sign of recoil, excessive amount of smoke from the blast, and smoke from muzzle and offside ports only.
