New Guy Intro
« on: February 22, 2013, 10:04:26 PM »
Hi folks, new guy in the Cafe, just wanted to stop by and introduce myself.  I live in the Northern Colorado Front Range, and snuck in the back door through Mr. Bane's Blog page. I recently started reading Micheal Banes blog and have been impressed by the work he has done in fighting the curent attacks on the Second Ammendment.  I'm an a bit of a "seasoned citizen", married, with three heallthy, self supporting, non-criminal, adult offspring and one Grandson that has his own brand new Henry 22 Lever gun in my safe waiting for him to get big enough tp shoot it. I am a Viet Nam vet, and my wife also served in the Army Medical Corp during the war. We like to spend time in our RV, fishing, and archery. I enjoy hunting, and shooting from plinking to IDPA, and I am a Certified NRA Pistol instructor.  My wife is not that much into guns, but I think I'm starting to wear her down. ;D
Looking forward to jumping in with both feet and getting to know ya.   :)

Welcome to the forum and thank you and your wife for your service

Welcom! And don't be scared of the local wild life. The only rule here is that its all in good fun, every technical question will be answered and the political stuff never interferes with helping a guy out on gun issues.

Thank you very much for both of your services. This place gets a little tumultuous but all and all I think there is always something to be learned.

Obstreperous, cantankerous, curmudgeonly, intransigent, opinionated, do any of these fit you?  If so, you'll fit right in.  Oh yeah, we lean a bit to the right here.  Unapologeticaly.  Except for the 'Quaker', he's one of them perfesser types.  His  bubble's off to the left a bit it seems.  ;D  Thick skin and a sense of humor help too.  From one Vet to another, thanks.

Welcome, LocNLoad.

All topics tend to digress towards beer.  (Not as much as my stagecraft forum, where they actually track that statistic.)

Don't be shy about your shooting exploits.

Here too is a 'Nam era veteran.   USAF.  Didn't make it in-country, but the AF managed to get me to all the other hotspots that didn't qualify for combat pay back in the '70s.  Of course they also managed to get me there without haz-duty pay or flight pay.  And sometimes they got me back home.

Welcome to the zoo.

We can always use another 'Nam vet.  I'm Navy, but have full respect for the other branches.  After all, not everyone can be in the senior service.  And those lessor branches do have their place.

I went back to 'Nam in 2008 just to see what lasting damage we had done.  You'll be pleased to note little if any harm remains.  Saigon is much larger and motorbikes are everywhere.  The Aussie base south of Vung Tau is now a well manicured golf course.  Loads of Aussies have hooked up with local gals and you can see lots of gray beards with sweet young things on their arms.

Anyway, welcome.

Oh my!  No wonder you are here...you made it on Obama's list too.

See you in the re-education camps if we make it that far.....I had no idea we were supposed to raise victims to support "THE PARTY"....it's not my fault!!!!

Did someone say beer?

Welcome aboard and as was already stated, thanks for yours and the brides service as well!  I'm a tweener, blackshoe squid (75-81) who never set foot on a floaty thing let alone a combat zone but don't hold it against me!  From a family of squids with 42 years of active duty service combined..

We're a bunch of miscreants but we don't throw our poop...........any more!   ;D
