Looks I'm going to wait and check out the M sub-c in 9mm to spend my rebate check on.  Looks like the M has better sites for my old eyes (finally).

My local gun store, specifically, the staff, had not even heard of it, I showed them the Guns & Ammo full page promo and they were not aware,...

Yes they were young mid 20's. but hell I thought they would keep up with the times. I do, and I'm 15 years older!

I'm a little let down, the days of customer service and going to the gun shop to talk guns has gone out the window, here anyway. :-[

Personally, when they catch up, THAN they'll say its the latest, greatest thing.

I look forward to some reviews on the XDM, I wanted one, but got the M+P .40 instead. Yes, I'm glad I did 8)

Sorry Hawkfish, the Glock is coming, spending my rebate check again,..... ;D So many good ones, (didn't mention the Kimber),

like my wine habit. There is a difference. ;)

Anyone know a price point on the M?
Everything I needed to learn in life I learned from Country Music.

We have one at H&H gun range in okc pretty much the only difference between the XD and the XD-M is the interchanging back strap and the 16 instead of 12 round mags. Havn't got to shoot one yet though.

I actually held one Saturday. It feels a little smaller in the hand than my XD45 or 9. The standard black model was going for $659. SS model will hit at abut $700. Definately a great piece in the hand. I think I'll wait until it comes out in a .45. Not too crazy about the .40

Figures they'd come out with a M two weeks after I buy the original XD :-(.  Oh well, there's nothing to say I can't have both (except one of the Democrat candidates)

Most significant cheange IMO is the one few are mentioning; the safer takedown procedure.

No need to pull the trigger during take down. Remove the mag, lock the slide to the rear, rotate the takedown lever, slide the slide fwd off the frame.

No decocking button ala P99/SW99, no sear release lever ala M&P, no need to pull the trigger ala Glock/XD...

The takedown lever is linked to the action, when rotated eliminates the need to decock or pull the trigger.

Beleive me, there is much interest in that from people who right RFPs, approve contracts, and review ND reports. ;)
