Got to check out the new XDM today.  Sights are good but not great for these old eyes (better than the original model).  Grip with the small backstrap feels good.  Price $599 - Blue and $699 for the two-tone (two-tone looks good but not sure it is worth $100 extra).  Might have to wait for the 9mm sub.

Richard

PS:  Couldn't shoot or try the trigger so I don't know about them.

PPS:  I read somewhere else that by not having to pull the trigger for take down has changed the feel of the trigger pull and made a trigger job more necessary!

Cool!
Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the American people's liberty teeth and keystone under independence. The very atmosphere of firearms everywhere restrains evil interference. - George Washington

Buds is hard to beat, even with the FFL transfer fees.

I paid $625 for my bi-tone.  The backstrap, sights, and capacity are the biggest improvements in my opinion.  The trigger feels stiffer right now, but my other XDs are well broken in.  Maybe this trigger will improve after break-in as well.

From the looks of it it is an XD .45 with a manual safety.

Newp.  It's an XD .45 in .40.  With interchangable backstraps and waffled grips.  And a slimmer, sleeker slide stop.

Looking forward to hearing what you have say about the new XD after you've run a few rounds through it.
