so is Kim Jong Un and North Korea just talking crap  or are we needing to worry..

A number of possible explanations for Un's actions have been postulated by so-called knowledgeable pundits.  The one that I think makes the most sense is that Un may be facing a coup if he doesn't behave in a forceful manner.  That, and all his life he has been able to throw a tantrum and get his way.

That said, the little Korean butterball is also batshiat crazy, so there's no real telling what the piss-ant might do.

What we think is known is that the NorKor contingent does not have a nuclear warhead or a significantly powerful delivery system.

Oz should be safe. 

The US Mainland should be safe.

Japan and SoKor may need to worry.

This is a bunch of sabre rattling by this little dog eater. They currently have no delivery system that could carry a nuclear payload to us. They would have all they could do to hit Japan. Even then it's a 70% chance it will end up in the ocean. But it would be a nice gift on our part to conduct a pre-emptive strike on his missle bases and nuclear facilities. Our guys could use the practice, and the camera footage would be fun to watch. 85% of that nation doesn't have electricity at night anyway. When the ISS flies over at night, they can make out N.K. by the dark outline. This could brighten things up a bit for them. At least temporarly.

I'm with CR on this. North Korea doesn't have the capability to do much more than shell the crap out of South Korea. Even in that event, we know where their artillery batteries are and could take most of them out within probably 24 hours. As far as reaching past Japan, they might be able to eek one into Alaska, and that's a BIG MIGHT.

UNLESS someone gives them the delivery system. That is my big fear. Our enemies, hell the entire world know we are not exactly on the best footing as a nation. Can any of you think of a better time to attack us? Russia, China, Pakistan, even a terrorist group. Any of these could give North Korea the equipment to get this done. Let the crazy little crackpot pull the trigger, and then be able to stand back and say "We didn't do it!" Meanwhile we've just been nuked, and now all of our resources have been diverted to licking our wounds and kicking the crap out of a country that no one cares about.

KSU is getting what he wants.  The WH, through Hagel, has said that if he lowers tensions he'll get some aid.  He gets the aid, and looks like he made the US and UN blink internally.

Any one who claims they can predict how KJU will act or react is full of shit.
Even many in intelligence circles had never heard of him before he was named his fathers successor and since then there has not been enough interaction with him on which to base accurate predictions.
As for what he may do, it has been common knowledge for years that NK had nuclear weapons and their larger missles are able to hit Hawaii for sure and possibly the West coast .
DoD thinks the threat is serious enough to justify move missile defenses to Guam.
