I always carry +1 in my SD sidearm.  I have little doubt that if I didn't.......what with Murphy's Law being in full effect.......that final round would be the one I'd need to save my ample ass in a serious social encounter if I DIDN'T have it.
I love waking up every morning knowing that Donald Trump is President!!

NO, carry x-mag & do tactical reload should it be needed
“As democracy is perfected, the office of the President represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people.  On some great and glorious day, the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be occupied by a downright fool and a complete narcissistic moron.”  H.L. Mencken, The Baltimore Evening Sun,  July 26, 1920.

I always carry +1 in my SD sidearm.

Me too, I will not reduce my ready supply of ammo.

Frosty may have hit on an easy workaround for TAB. Load, change mag, then use the spare mag as a -1.
Gives TAB a place to put his chambered round when he needs to disarm since he doesn't like to have it loose.

If you don't think you can seat the mag the second time as opposed to the first maybe you should carry a bat.

I always carry my handgun with a FULL mag and a chambered round. My ARmags get loaded with 28. If you slap a fresh mag in the pistol from skide lock the rounds won't fly out. But they might with an AR. Plus the mag seats much surer with a 2 down load.

I carry/compete with +1.  If a stage only requires 6 rounds I top off just to be sure no matter what.  I don't like USPSA and IDPA because they limit what I can carry.  I wouldn't do it in the REAL world, why do it in IDPA where it's supposed to represent real life?

Richard

What limit are you referring to?

What limit are you referring to?

Production only allows 10 rounds in the magazine (11 total in the gun if starting from loaded position) in USPSA and IDPA only allows 10 rounds in the magazine.

As to the topic I've never heard anyone that was involved in a firefight say they had too much ammunition but I have heard several instances where they did not have enough.

JoeG, in USPSA Production and Limited 10 divisions and IDPA Stock Service a competitor can start with 10 +1 even if the pistol I am using has a higher capacity.  All part of the game but not real life.
