Could you talk your way out?

Lets suppose you were some one who travels a lot and inadvertently wondered into an area that was controlled by a Gang and are confronted, how do you suppose you could get a bye(free pass) on moving yourself and or family thru the area without being accosted? Pay a Tax? Hand them a hand grenade and keep the pin?

If I was alone I probably could talk my way through if they even thought I was worth bothering in the first place .
If I was with others my faith in that would be low since there's always someone who has to shoot their mouth off at the wrong time.
"Hey buddy, can you spare a couple of bucks" might be a good start.

Anyone seen my mother-in-law?  She's got duct tape on her mouth and hands.  I had her feet duct taped too but since she isn't in the trunk I figure she wiggled her feet free.  I just don't want her to turn up on the news again.

BTW I LOVE my MIL, this would be my way of talking my way out of a sketchy situation.

Far too many variables possible for a simple posting on here.  This is where overall preparation, preparedness, observation, etc. come into play.

If they are looking for valuables, this is where the dummy wallet and couple dollars of loose bills comes into play as a distraction.

Well prepped family and any weapon you are good with comes in as well.  Sometimes "talking" includes the fshhhhhhhhhhhh of spray, the glare of a bright light, or even BANG!

Reminds me of the time, as a young man before I owned guns, I found myself in South Phoenix with a couple of guys, along for the ride on a mission of dubious legality or common sense. At that time it was our great fortune that a car squealed it's tires coming around the corner down the block, and our colorful hosts turned to look.  We all ran with a couple of shots fired, and piled into our getaway vehicle (we weren't COMPLETE idiots).  Back in the civilized world we discovered two bullet holes in the car door I jumped into.  I don't think talking would have worked out so well.

Best Practice is to know where you are going and why.

That's just slang for "Welcome to Phoenix" in the south part of town.

Sometimes it gets a little slurred in the translation.
You can say lots of bad things about pedophiles; but at least they drive slowly past schools.
