Hey that's great! I've read differing accounts about trigger changes...some don't notice anything, some say it's same or lighter, and some say heavier...I guess that's typical for people.
I'll be interested in your assessment.

I got out to the range with it and some 230g LRN reloads. Unfortunately my reloads are too long, but the XDs never liked my reloads. Trigger feels a little stiffer but smoother. I dry fired it about 100-150 times the night I got it, until my right trigger finger cramped up. Happy to have it home just need to work up some reloads it likes.

So it seems my XDs' chamber is a little shorter (or the "throat" is shallower) than on my XDM.  Not by much but enough to cause a problem at the OAL maximum length (1.272").  I had about 300 rounds loaded up that wouldn't function in either of the guns so I seated the bullets a little deeper (1.245" OAL) and problem solved.  Shot ~150 rounds on Satureday at our club USPSA match with zero problems in my XDM and put about 30 through the XDs without an issue.

I found that too Magoo. I was having trouble with some lead SWC rounds I had made, and when I measured them against the ball that was running fine they were just a little longer. When (seems like "if") I get it back I'll try shortening some a little to see how they work.

Well, my brand-new, never-fired XDs just returned yesterday after a two-month visit to the factory.  I do think the trigger is not quite as "mushy" as it was before.  Will be taking it out for some shooting this afternoon, and I will report on the results.

My XDs has lost it's virginity.  Seemed to be shooting all over the target at first, but after a couple of magazines it settled down
and began shooting better than my arthritic hands could hold.  Recoil was pretty fierce with my hardball-equivalent loads, but
with some 185 grain SWC's it was no problem.  Guess I need to find some lightweight hollow points if I start carrying it.  Like the sights, like the new, improved trigger pull. No jams, no FTF, no malfunctions of any kind.  Curiously, the magazine springs are about
twice the strength of those in a GI 1911A1 mag.

I am now officially pleased with my purchase!

Glad you like your new lead launcher.
Not surprised about the mag springs. Just thinking out loud, those bullets have to be pushed up in time for a smaller, faster slide to grab them.
You can say lots of bad things about pedophiles; but at least they drive slowly past schools.

Glad to hear you are happy Big Bear. The mag springs ARE pretty stiff, but like Mitch says, it makes sense that the tension is part of the overall design to make those little things pass those big bullets efficiently.
The first time I checked my SN on the Springfield website I typed it in wrong...the site told me it was not part of the recall so I'm like, "Yay!".  I got a feeling weeks later and checked again and realized I had to send it in. I might not see mine till Christmas.
Oh well, I have some new shotgun parts to play with.

Got an email from Springfield that my XDs shipped yesterday, so 2 day MIGHT get it to me today or maybe friday.
Hoping we hook up for the signature and I can get that baby out this weekend for a 150-200 rounds.

Don't believe FedEx's delivery time.  They told me they'd be there at 8:00PM, when the drivers are all back to the house by 4:30.  ::)

I walked around the house at a compressed ready dry firing my XDs for a 100 or more times the day I got it back.  Felt a little stiffer but a little smoother.  Shoot fine and carries just like it did before.

Nice to have it home  8)
