Wisconsin is right, don't take this stuff personal. I have had some pretty heated discusions with individuals on this site, then guess who comes through when I need advice, and vice versa.
None of us are questioning your gun handling skills, or safety practices, It seems to me that the recall was issued for a nit picking reason to make Ca. lawyers happy. The arguments against your carrying the SR9 are based on OTHER peoples perception that "Oh my god, he's carring a recalled fire arm".

Your home state and it's laws don't matter, any lawyer that handled a case against you would jump on the fact of a recall as a method of showing the jury "Your Irresponsible nature". Remember, in a civil trial the rules are differant, the lawyer needs to CONVINCE A JURY not PROVE TO A JURY, and it's a REALLY big differance. Thats how John Edwards made his fortune "channeling" dead children in a malpractice suit.

And don't take offense to the CAPITAL letters, I don't have bold, or italic options in the quick reply box so I use capitals for that purpose. Also, like Wisconsin said, WELCOME to the zoo
